The Importance of Humbling Yourself

Humility is the quality of being modest and respectful. This needs to be applied even more so in every aspect of business. When I took my first steps in creating my online business it was hard to find people that could teach me even the basics initially.

Now it's not because they were holding the information hostage or anything like that. It was simply because they didn't know for themselves. Not knowing something is never the problem. The problem occurs when you try to bury the issue rather than find the correct answers.

Which brings us to our worst enemy PRIDE. Pride refers to an inflated sense of one's personal status or accomplishments. Its this very emotion that can ultimately peigion hold your full potential indefinitely.

So in closing I'd just like to say having some pride about yourself is a okay characteristic, but by know means let keep you from finding gatekeepers that help you cross the threshold into your true potential.

I can't say it enough always look to help people that have less knowledge on any subject and trust me it's a boomerang effect and you'll ultimately end up helping yourself. Don't be too prideful to ask questions. The only question that's a stupid question is the question that you don't ask.

Great points Tim. To that I'd like to add a few other things which are the enemies of success:

    - A lack of BELIEF. If you don't believe at your very core that you will be a success, then you won't be. As Henry Ford said: "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right!"

    - A Lack of self control. One of the major differences between successful entrepreneurs and the great majority of wage slaves who will spend all their lives on the 9 to 5 employee treadmill.

    - Chasing the money. Money will follow if you are doing what you love and your primary goal is to help other people.

    - Getting too easily discouraged if things aren't going to plan. It helps to remember that every failure or setback takes us one step closer to our goals.

    - Over complicating things. A VERY easy thing to do for Internet marketers - particularly those just starting out.

    - Being a perfectionist. A particularly insidious trait for Internet Marketers, and one I personally struggle with. A few days ago I opened Photoshop to make some tweaks to a website header which should have taken 10 minutes, and before I knew it an hour had passed because I was obsessing about some minute details of my logo!

I've found that one of the wonderful things about embarking on the journey to become an internet entrepreneur is that it forces us to confront our weaknesses, and to hopefully become better people because of it!

Here's to success, and of course the ultimate goal, happiness!

If you have too much pride you're either going to get a rude awakening, never make it through all the challenges and learning curves of getting a business off the ground, or both :p

Yes Tim. Showing pride is not the act of closing gate of our brain. We should not let keep us from finding gatekeepers that help us cross the threshold into our true potential.

Unfortunately, it seems like too many people get caught in the never ending cycle of seeking a mentor or leader and never becoming a leader.

You need to always learn as much as you can to stay up to date in this business, but there comes a times when we have to start trusting our instincts.

All of you guys have valid points and additions that I find very helpful, chasing cash is the one that stood out the most. I jumped up from my seat when I saw it. I love that one.
