I've been through a run of really bad things happening. Time to change my thinking.

What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning, that gets you started on a great productive day?

My thoughts, "I am going to work on my passion and make serious money out of it."

I agree with HonestBizPro. Think of all the things you can be grateful for.

A couple of months ago I had an experience where I lost everything. And that was a very valuable and enlightening experience because it taught be to be more grateful and appreciative of all the wonderful things I have and all the amazing opportunity that I have. As I heard in a movie once:

"It's not until you've lost everything that you're free to do anything."

Usually I don't think of anything when I wake up. I just get out of bed, look out of the window at the beautiful sunshine, and get on with what I have to do. After half an hour and I'm taking a walk I start thinking about how beautiful life is and all the things that I'm happy about: my health; my freedom; my opportunity ...

Heck, just being alive is enough to make me happy. So I'd recommend that one of the first things you do when you wake up is to make a list or think about the things that you're grateful for.

Because--if you think about it--you're incredibly lucky.

There are people right now who have terminal diseases and will only live a couple more months. All their dreams, aspirations, and ambitions are completely gone. And, unless they experience a miracle, they're never going to experience life ever again.

So how can you not be happy knowing that you're healthy, alive, and a free to do anything and everything that you want?

Here's a favourite quotation of mine that you may find helpful:

"Difficulties are opportunities to better things; they are stepping stones to greater experience. Perhaps someday you will be thankful for some temporary failure in a particular direction. When one door closes, another always opens."--Unknown

One of the first things I do every morning is ask myself some empowering questions:

    1. What do I feel passionate about?

    2. What makes me really happy?

    3. What am I excited about in my life?

    4. Who am I grateful to have in my life?

    5. How can I make today more silly?

Those are my personal empowering questions at the moment .

I just take a few minutes to really answer them, and feel the answers in my body. And bam! I have put myself in a great state, and I'm going to have a great day ahead of me!

When I'm having trouble seeing the good in my life (and there is always good, no matter how bleak things seem at the time) I do what it seems like you're doing . . . I realize I have to change my thinking, to change my results . . . and then I use EFT to help me get rid of the unconscious beliefs that got me to thinking negatively in the first place.

If you're not familiar with EFT, you can find out more at EFT Home - World Center for EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) - that's not an affiliate link, it's free info.

Another thing I do is put on a CD or recording by a motivational speaker - someone I resonate with - it helps me think outside of my own circumstances and re-energizes me. Then I get into action, do what I can to change my circumstances, and let my re-ignited positive energy flow!

All this is good however restructing at the level of cortical pathways is better. So what are cortical pathways:

Cortel Pathways constitute an essential link between sensory and limbic areas of the cerebral cortex and subcortical brain regions, such as the hypothalamus, brainstem, and striatum, that are responsible for eliciting emotional and motivational responses,

In otherwords oh never mind the other words because I'm working on an ebook on how to use the neuroscience of Cortel Pathways for weight loss. It's actually a phenomanel technique that I developed for myself 15 years ago and have not had a weight problem since. I wouldn't have even thought of actually turning it into a book if it hadn't been for all the spam I started to get about **** berries, which led me to take a good hard look at the weight loss industry, which made me very, very angry. Therefore, thanks to **** berries hypsters which are now under investigation, I'm doing what I'm doing about and feeling good about it.

I try to go to bed with something I'm passionate about on my mind, and think myself to sleep. When I wake up in the morning I try to take whatever I was thinking about it and get myself excited to implement it.

A quick way to put your brain in gear first thing in the morning. As soon as you wake up train yourself to repeat this phrase a few times:

" I am getting better every day in every way"

It is quick and easy and will set you in a positive frame of mind.

I wake up every morning and tell my fiance I love her

Then I visualise the things I want to achieve in that day, and most importantly ensure I have the "attitude of gratitude".

  • I had a couple bad things happen lately, but they were also good.
My son was in a bad accident and the car was destroyed, but my son was not hurt.
I had a tall tree in my back yard that was blown over by a strong wind. It could have landed on my neighbour's house or my house, but instead it landed in my back garden.
The bad things didn't seem so bad.

    Got.....to....get.....to.....the.....shower.

Then I do all my good thinking, such as goals and actions to take for the day, in the shower.

I don't consciously think about things that I am thankful for. Maybe I will start trying to do this a little more before moving on with my day.
