When the past creeps in to the future... and how to catch it!

I'm gonna put it out there; this is going to be one of those posts from the heart. But I think it's important to discuss. So, I'm part of a group of people organizing a charity here in Australia. Basically the charity's goal is to set up a day around Australia where people go out of their way to express thanks to others. The kind of thanks we are sharing is the genuine form, like from your heart.

Pretty cool right? Well it is... so much so that the media caught on to it and wanted to do a write up of the day in a very prominent newspaper. Not only that, they wanted to photograph me! Oh man, I did not want this to happen. Everyone I told couldn't understand why I didn't want to be in the media, and be a driver for such an awesome cause. After a lot of thought about 'self' I got that what I was really worried about was, I was so concerned with what people who I don't even speak to anymore, thought of me. Absolutely bonkers right? But what was happening was this concern, which is basically my past, was coming in and preventing me from taking action now in the present and in the future, and ultimately potentially stopping me from making a difference to others. Thankfully I put a stop to the concern and am 100% on board with the media.

Now, you might be like how is this relevant to internet marketing. Well, it is because I saw how this applies to other areas of life. When I first started in internet marketing, I was ready to get my hands in and take action and make some bucks. I had all the momentum and desire needed to make progress, but the thing that was stopping me was direction. I ended up spending a few months that pretty much consisted of procrastination. The reason was, the feeling felt synonymous to that feeling I had when I used to work for a large corporation. This corporation had huge expectations of me and didn't give me support or guidance. I didn't last long in the job. The difference now is internet marketing is my passion, my chosen path. The feelings and constraints of my past job were preventing me from taking action in my chosen profession. Again, I caught this out.

When you feel constrained about something, have a look and see if the situation has occurred before. I find that when you pinpoint a similar experience and give it a bit of thought, it simply loses its power of you and you can pretty much... carry on. This ultimately makes you powerful and prevents you from walking into the future with a whole lotta past.
