          Great thread!

For me, I can think of 2 books that's really helped me change my life.

          Those are:
          1. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma
          2. Thick Face Black Heart by Chin Ning Chu

I wholeheartedly recommend these 2 books.

Rich Dad Poor Dad was an entertaining read and I would definitely pick up a copy of The Richest Man In Babylon. I read it for the first time several years ago and (quite literally) my bank account and assets have never looked better since implementing the "7 Cures for a Lean Purse"

My Favorite book is: "You Were Born Rich" By Bob Proctor of the Secret.

After I read the book, I got the extreme fortune to work with him and do marekting, vidoe and audio production for his $7,000.00 Income Acceleration Program.

It changed the entire direction of my life. I thought I was there to work, little did I know I would leave with an entire new mind consciousness about wealth, business, online marketing and personal happiness!

It taught me that we live in a sea of infinite possibilty. I used the knowledge to
transform my mentality which allowed me to leave the collective corporate mindset and
build three successful businesses that I love.

I jump out of bed every morning excited about life, helping others and leaving everyone I meet with more possibility. I Feel extremely focused yet peaceful. I wish the same for all of us. If one of us wins, we all win. Thank you for letting me share and post. Peace!

I think it depends on where you are in life, when I was younger there were classics that influenced me, and even "apocolyptic" stories that had a big impact, now it takes a little more to make an impression but if the timing is right a book can change your way of thinking.

A great person is measured by their library.

      Here are my recommendations

Brian Tracy - Maximum Achievement (the first book I read on successful thinking)
Steve Chandler - 100 Ways To Motivate Yourself (an absolute must read when you're going through the challenging times)
Victor Frankl - Mans Search For Meaning (puts life into perspective - period)
Steven K Scott - Mentored By A Millionair (for it's amazing vision mapping process that gets things done)
T Harv Eker - Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (for it's money management system that has kept me debt free for over 6 years since I first read it)
Samuel Smiles - Character (an antique book that is as relevant today as it was in the 1890's)
Napoleon Hill - Think & Grow Rich (because it's principles underpin everything to do with IM and success)
Emile Coue - The practice of autosuggestion (because everyone should understand the subconcious mind, especially in IM)
Dan Ariely - Predictably Irrational (for the testing and data of how consumers work)
Clive Hopkins - Scientific Advertising (because no one has since written any better book on the principles of advertising)
Darren Hardy - The Compound Effect (for it's lessons on persistence)

Success Magazine (for it's monthly inspiration)

I have hundreds more I've read over the last 6 years but these have to be the top of the list for me.

      Nice thread, Sumit.

      ***

      The Bible, of course.

If the focus is a book on how to get rich, I would still say the Bible for many reasons. Nonetheless, for all intents and purposes, I will specify the writings of King Solomon who was and remains the riches man who has ever lived. There is a lot to learn from King Solomon. Try it.

Some one actually wrote a book: Secrets of the Richest man who ever lived, Mike Murdock. I suggest that you pick up a Bible and read about King Solomon yourself. You may learn a thing or two.

The Magic Of Thinking Big is my all time favorite. There are so many important components to success that we have absolute control over that is found in our minds. We do not allow us to get beyond our current lot in life because we don't understand the power we already possess.
I find that so much is possible, but how we think limits us, NOT our station in life or events. This book delivers the information in such a way that it just sinks in

    POWERFUL BOOK.

Honorable mention to Think and Grow Rich, another incredible mindset book. Having a desire for money is an undeniable requirement that many paint with a bad rep, it doesn't mean you are a greedy, money monger. But desire to obtain money is critical.

The Compound Effect, also good. Reminds us of how important the cumulative effect of small actions is critical to the big long term picture.

My favorite book is "Free As A Running Fox" by T.D Calnan. It is sort of an inspirational book. It is the story of a WWII prisoner of war who escapes across the German countryside and makes his way back to England. The reason I love it so much is he shows superhuman perseverance to make his escape reality.

Okay, I couldn't come up with one favorite and the list of books, whether fiction, inspirational, business or research is much, much longer than this but this is what I can recall from the top of my head and these are ones that really mattered to me, Like I said there are more, I've actually gotten around to starting Moby Dick (exceptional work), haven't finished it yet so it doesn't make the list. Every book in my list of 21 I read every word or read it twice. And just for honorary mention I forgot to include another one I have completely read that was just a joy to read especially when I just didn't see that good a book coming, much better than I anticipated:

Gone With The Wind - by - Margaret Mitchell

I grew up in the south and always thought the whole "Theatre Soap Opera" around everything 'Gone With The Wind' was just that, a soap opera. But I did read 'The Outsiders' by S.E. Hinton when I was a kid and I always liked that the character 'Pony Boy' was really into reading and in the novel he reads 'Gone With The Wind'. Well sometime in my early 20s I was looking for another book to read and thought about the connection from the SE Hinton book so I got a copy of 'Gone with the Wind'.
Hands down one of the best books I have ever read. I can see why the book caused such a fervor back in the 30s. It was an instant hit in book form and when the movie was made the actors, movie people, everyone thought it was going to be a flop and it was this monstrous hit. It's the one movie/book combo which honestly compliment one another and they were created by two completely different parties. Margaret Mitchell wrote her book and then Hollywood made it a movie, and they got it right on that one, But the real catalyst and hero of all of it is Margaret Mitchell's storytelling. And yes it is the coming of age story of a spoiled insensitive little bitch masquerading as a southern belle, named Scarlett O'Hara but by the end of the book you're rooting for Scarlett. She grows up and matures but still rooted somewhat in her illusions of Rhett their lost child and the war torn southern region that is the backdrop of this story and the overall plot to the book is the Civil War they've endured. Just an exceptionally well written book, that's the real surprise about this one.

Okay, I know I went a little nutso about the books. I'm guilty, I love books. I'm defenseless and I have no excuse.......I know I should be working but I am NOT sorry.
No eReaders for me....yeah they're cool, they scroll, they flip pages but they don't FEEL like a book.
Remember, one door opens, one door closes, in between are the stories.
    Peace.

One of my recent all time favorites is MJ Demarco's Fastlane.

Here's something that I got from this great book, in fact the following is ingrained in my brain..!
I'LL share it with fellow warriors...

    STOP CHASING MONEY—CHASE NEEDS…& Wants!

Never start a business just to make money. Stop chasing money and start chasing needs. Let me repeat that, because it’s the most important thing in this book: Stop thinking about business in terms of your selfish desires, whether it’s money, dreams or “do what you love.” Instead, chase:
Wants, Needs, problems, pain points, service deficiencies, and emotions.

The Art of Selling by Tom Hopkins back early '90....of how he programmed his subconscious mind through the power of self talk which he then built his Sales Empire. Of course there are great books that were mentioned here.
