Is anyone Familiar with Transcendental Meditation ?

Hey Warriors,

I have read a lot about Transcendental Meditation and people are saying that it is the most JOYFUL state to be in,to get energized with tons of positive energy.

I have also heard some of the top Trainers like Dr.Deepak Chopra saying that it is the State of God with Infinity and endless potential.

Have anyone tried this form of meditation?

If yes,it will be very helpful if you can share your experience and the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation.

Peace
Shubh Ashish

    Hi,

I was first introduced to TM in 1974 when I attended a lecture about it. There were two guys who spoke, and they had been meditating according to the principles and practices of TM for years.

I stayed and was given my mantra for meditating according to TM. Nothing religious about it, etc. And I still remember the mantra and sometimes use it when I meditate.

I've been meditating off and on ever since then. There have been periods when I meditated every day over a period of several years. And I've learned much more about meditating over the years.

I think the thrust of TM is the use of the mantra. The mantra, a word in an Indian dialect I do not remember, is probably used in the way ancient Rosicrucians used words, or sound, during meditation.

The vibration affects the mind in a positive way.

However, beyond that, I don't think TM is different from plain, ol' meditation. And I would encourage anyone to practice being still in their minds. It takes great effort, and practice, to stop thinking which means turning off 'thoughts.'

If you pay attention to what you're thinking, or try to observe it, you'll notice there's a constant stream of thoughts about all kinds of things. And many of these thoughts can be thought of as stressful thoughts, worries, and all kinds of less than positive things.

The key here is to train your mind to turn off all that noise in your head. This is not easy to do, but it's the basis for many teachings found in Buddhism and ancient Hindu texts.
