Looking for Success Accountability Partner

A lot of successful people say their success was boosted by being accountable to their productive/unproductive actions, be it through a mentorship, accountability partner or mastermind group.

Although it's out of my comfort zone, I think this is a good way to grow, and necessary for slicing down the absurd amounts of procrastination in my life. I've come to grips with the fact that it's really important to be a healthy person in all aspects, not just financially, so what I'm talking about could be accountability for health, business, fitness...

A bit of a rant here: I think we are totally out of control, and we are just creatures of habit. Everyone knows of at least one thing, where if they did it everyday (maybe it would only take 20mins - or less), their lives would be so much more fulfilling. Why don't we do this thing then? Until we can make a habit of it, it's so hard to make it happen. I think an accountability partner can help make this thing a habit, and then you can make the next necessary action a habit, and so on until success is inevitable. An oversimplification yes, but I still believe the idea has merit.

So I am looking for someone who feels the same way, and would agree to some sort of outline like the following:
1. We would start by each identifying one thing that we NEED to get under control for success - could be a daily morning ritual like Eben Pagan talks about, or it could be specific to business
2. We would each "throw our hat over the fence", meaning, we would create a situation where it would be more painful NOT to do the thing we chose. For example, if I don't spent 2 hours every day on my copywriting, I give my buddy $100, clean 3 of my friend's bathrooms, sit in the corner of shame, etc. Something to really leverage yourself into action
3. We would correspond daily at first (first 30 days?) until the habit becomes solidified, and then decide where to go from there

This sounds pretty regimented I know, but I think with a solid plan, it will be easier to know what we would both be committing to. Again, the things we could be accountable for could be anything at all.

Also, if you don't feel you need an accountability partner but feel you want to mentor, that's cool too

I've been thinking about this ever since I read "Think and grow rich" by Napoleon Hill. A master mind group could help every member to reach a point they couldn't reach alone. I would be interested in the concept. Not necessarily one-on-one but maybe a tight 7 member group with the common goal to help each other succeed.

I've been thinking about maybe making a private forum where all members could have their own blog, listed goals and action plans and a old-school forum for pushing each other along.

Would you be interested in this concept?

It's cool you mention this, because I actually was part of something similar for a time. Unfortunately, while the idea is good, I don't think any of us (we had 10 guys) were at the level where we had enough mastery over the important things in our lives to maintain quality posts on a regular basis. And looking back, it was pretty overwhelming to try and keep up with it. I can see a group like this working, but until I have more self mastery, I don't think I could commit. That's sort of the reason why I'm looking for a one on one thing, where it's just minutes of communication a day, but enough to keep motivated and build habit on the small things, then gradually build to the stage where I could contribute to a mastermind group.

Hey Dan, I added you on Skype.

My challenge is the marketing side of this new world. I've been making "products" for a couple of years now. But now I need to immerse myself in to the selling and marketing side of the business. I hope I can contribute somehow on the product development side of things.

Dude, that's a great idea! Something for the procrastinators out there, like me.
Gonna check back and see if anything more concrete comes in the form of a group. Never been a part of a skype group so not positive how it works, but I like the idea for sure. Accountability is HUGE.

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

Let's make a group where we each deposit $10 weekly if we don't meet our designated goals and by the end of the month, the money goes to the one who's been slacking off the most.

    I'd join this group.

I am thinking of a new idea for a niche site. I have done the research and know the niche is good, I am just unsure of the monetization. Can I bounce this idea off the group?

That's the point - if you don't have 10 dollars to give away, you will work extra hard not to be the slacker of the group and thus keep your 10 dollars.

Great idea! I just hope everybody has enough willpower to do this. It is very easy to find excuses. That was my problem for some time.

I'm starting a new project. And ya I could use something like this. I'll PM you, but if anyone else would be interesting in perhaps doing this kind of exercise please PM me. I'm more thinking of the idea of just some ongoing moral support. I'm not a "drop and give me 20" kinda guy. More just chatting with someone who's working on a project and that also needs some moral support, or motivation. Thanks.

    Hello folks.

I was looking around for groups like this and came across this one as well as a few others.

So, I am wondering if the OP's offer (as well as others here) is still on the table?

Note: I realize that this is an old thread; but, I didn't know if it was best to post my request here or ask individually. - I obviously went with the first.

Thanks in advance for the time and consideration.
