I got 2 stories here, both of them are very well known and are based on true lives.. I am still thinking on which one would you choose ?

Story number one:

The guy who finished school, college and devoted his life for traveling, he is traveling for several years now, from one part of the wold to another, he is happy living a life without money, just some random jobs, and traveling free, anywhere he wants, and so on.. He does not care about the money.

Story number two:

Work every single day, work a lot, and try to earn as much as possible to get a good vacation, buy good things, live rich.. You know the point..

So what would you think is better? Live free and travel, see it all, or work hard and expect to earn that much that you will be able to travel a lot one day?

I don't care about money as well so i pick story number one. Seems like this guy is much smarter than that of story number two. There's really a difference between working smart and working hard.

Story #1, talking from experience. The stuff you'll discover, the people you'll meet, the experiences you'll make, the things you'll learn and the amount you'll grow could never be paid for with money.

I see myself switching between the two. Story #2 is where I am right now but would like to live out Story #1 somehow.

In the end though, I'm one of those types who'd like to settle down after that which puts me back at #2 again. As much as I'd like a traveler's story, I'd make it a goal to have "Happy Family" as the ending.

Story #2 is the path I was taught to follow, largely a cultural thing I think. The big promise of internet marketing for me is to get closer to having the freedom that story #1 offers. Besides, if you spend all your time saving and planning for the future, what happens if the future never arrives? Better to enjoy life in the present.

      Either.

Whatever works for an individual. We are not all cut from the same cloth. Some people find the greatest happiness in their work, others find it through new experiences. And those two examples are just scratching the surface of ways to live.

There's got to be a happy medium between the two options...everything in moderation.

Story number one... I have personally chosen a life that is full of freedom and fulfillment through life experiences.

I have many friends who see what I do and that I have offered to teach but some people are more comfortable in a stable job with structured paychecks, promotions and vacations. To each their own...

Story number 2 as I find happiness in working and having a vacation to reward myself of the things that I have achieved. More fulfilling.

But as what ElGuapo said, "Whatever works for an individual", it depends what works for you.

Traveling constantly gets tiring! I am the type of person who wants a nice home, where it is warm and cozy. Where I still get to see my family, and sleep in a bed that is my own.

I agree with the people who said "whatever works for an individual". I could never imagine living a vagabonds life.

I would rather work everyday , save my money, rewards myself and my family, and feel like I am contributing to society.

I would take a mix of both stories. Work hard to earn more and earn enough to see the world.

I am for a nice combination of the two. Have some security towards the future, but travel when and how I want.

I like the first one if you'll ask me. Why? Simply because his life is interesting. This person who do a lot of different things. The other one is not bad, but it's not an ideal lifestyle. We all work hard but we ought to enjoy every bit of our time. We need to travel and endulge ourselves to other pleasant things in life.

If I could travel anywhere for free and live without worrying about money I will definitely choose that lifestyle. Unfortunately, you can't do much without money. My goal is to work until I have enough money to travel.

It is hard to choose. I would pick a mix of them too. I prefer living in a free lifestyle and also caring about my money. That would be better than just choose one path.

And then i pick the one where i am happy the most. Having money does not assure happiness nor does having a higher position in a company too.

I wonder how many people in this forum are living the person in story two but would much rather be the person in the first story.

I like to work hard and travel. I don't think the choices are mutually exclusive, though they're emphasized at different points in one's life.

My problem is I start to feel too comfortable. It means I'm not pushing myself hard enough. It's WAY too easy to get in the comfort trap of a decent job, a decent daily routine, and a decent (but comfortable) life.

I don't want decent. I want the best life has to offer. And getting out of my comfort zone is what forces me to grow and come up with new ways to make an impact on the world.

When I feel like I'm drifting too far over into choice #2 land, I try to bring myself back to center because tomorrow is never promised to any of us.

    Best,

    Corey
