PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Hi Guys,

I have found that when I am working and put some good music on I get more inspiration and ideas than when I am working in silence. Of course there's a time for silence and music while working. I also work throughout the night, brain produces melatonine, then am so tired the mindchatter is gone and I get lots of creative ideas. I stumbled upon this by accident when I pulled an all-nighter while working.

I never heard of this band before, but I know this song is going around in Europe and is getting more and more popular everyday. It was recorded at a big festival. The drummer of the band plays on coffeecups during the song instead of drums and the crowd goes wild. This song gets me through the night

Nature inspires me a lot. I noticed that when I'm looking at the beauty and abundance of nature, it gives me a deep feeling of peacefulness and connection to the Universe and very often intuitive ideas come in a clearer manner.

Actually there's a lot of stuffs that inspires me i.e my family, friends, teamates, and spiritual aspects. But I really feel inspired to see all the people around me smiling with their smiles I can see that they are happy and it really boost my happiness as well.

This one's indeed a 'feel good' music. I too loves to listen to music when working, I love listening to bossanovas, jazz, pop, and rnb...Just makes me more active and I am able to produce ideas...

I have to agree that nature and the sound of nature gives me inspiration. Being with friends and family is another thing that inspires me - listening to people being positive and succeeding and enjoying their success and sharing.

  Reading other people's success stories, have always inspired. Just learning how other people over obstacles, trials and tribulations does something to me. It is hard to explain. But is gives me the joy of knowing that I can do it too.

Reading business books, biography or self development books inspire me. I generate many ideas when I commute in public transport.

  For instance, I want to be a millionaire. Heck, I want to be a billionaire, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Sure, it's possible.. but the goal's a little too high and it will take a long time to get there, and it's very likely that you'll lose your will along the way.
  
  Focusing on smaller goals will work better in most cases. Focus on simple yet very achievable goals like earning enough to buy yourself a new television, or even a car. When you get there, you'll automatically gain more confidence and momentum to push yourself further to bigger and greater goals.

Anthony Robbins inspired me years ago. Now I listen to Napoleon Hill and Alan Watts ! The following is an inpirational video is by Alan Watts (motivational speaker and philosopher). Everybody should see this, they should even teach this at schools.

Some individuals have great drive, a drive that goes beyond conventional teachings. Teaching every person the same way definitely molds them to think in boxes. Teach people to think outside the box is much more efficient and rewarding. Thinking outside is even better, no box required :-) I mean while taking a walk in nature !

Will Smith is a big inspiration for me, sounds a bit crazy but he has a great work ethic, strong drive, charisma and solid beliefs. There are some good videos of him on Youtube, very motivational I find.

I'm inspired by others' stories and their sharing; I like to know the story behind the glory you know? Remembering everyone started somewhere and knowing what T. Harv Eker has said: "Every master was once a disaster."

I take great comfort in that not only because I was once a disaster but also because it gives me space to ponder and be aware of how FAR I've come. I'm not a master by any means but I have grown leaps & bounds over where I was (even as recently as a year ago). And when I give pause and acknowledge my growth I feel internally motivated to continue on...and to support others' in their journey of growth as well.

I have been thinking about this a lot recently. I tend to work in silence but I have been wondering about music and efficiency. Part of me wants to say it will throw of focus, while the other says it will boost effectiveness and creativity.

Wonder if I could find a study on this. Good stuff to run through your mind, though.

I still get inspired by Hi Nrg music, something uplifting, chill out trance does it for me too (love Cafe Del Mar esp the chillout mixes

Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar {Micheal Woods Chill Out...

). I used to produce this stuff as a DJ back in the day since I couldn't get enough of it from elsewhere.

Ferry Corsten is a great DJ to listen to for some really motivational dance. Also love classical crossover and as someone mentioned earlier 'epic' movie soundtracks...

Also find some of the antique Victorian writers such as Samuel Smiles, James Allen etc very inspirational (I collect a lot of these original 'self development books' from the late 1800s / early 1900s). I've been reading Samuel Smiles Life Of George Stephenson recently from 1897 and it's a very inspiring read about a true pioneer (and amazingly his path to success is not too unlike a modern day internet entrepreneur's)
