Entrepreneurs get a bad rap sometimes, right?

We're accused of being greedy, only in it for the money, etc.

We're told that we should be more content, and grateful for what we already have.

People ask us why we're doing what we're doing, because life is meant to be enjoyed- not worked away.

But I was thinking this morning that I think you can actually be a little bit of both.

We should be grateful for what we have, because billions of people don't even have clean food and water- much less the internet, cars, video games, books, etc.

But at the same time- a little bit of greed is what makes humans different. Being a little greedy- wanting just a little more than what we have- is what makes technology and knowledge progress.

If nobody ever grew businesses, invented new things, and took business risks then where would humanity be today?

Or look at elite athletes. If they weren't constantly pushing themselves to bigger and greater things, we would have no idea that humans could run a mile in less than 4 minutes, or run ultrathons of 100+ miles.

many poor people are terribly greedy ..and do not realize it and spend much more time thinking about money than wealthy people ..

our economy was tanked buy a combination of tens of thousands of bankers, politicians and academics on wallstreet ..working with many millions of people who where happily willing to lie about how much they made.. to buy houses that where worth more than they would ever make ..

so you had the bankers willing to lend the money ..the politicians willing to drive up real estate prices to get more tax money.. who then borrowed money against that income level. and hordes of people with out jobs or income ..willing to fill out papperwork and move into houses they could never afford ..

now that is down right nasty greed and we are witnessing the destruction of much of western society ..because way to many if not most people believe the governments should take money from someone else to give to them so they can live comfortable ..

there is no reasoning with them ..the enjoy being protected by a government that willingly drives prices higher and increases taxes to a point that they need tax breaks and money checks from the government to survive ..

i am really happy for all the people who voted to get the rich in the Us a few months ago and have been opening their pay checks and finding less money ..

there are a lot of poor people in the world with nothing .. but all they need is more greedy people who will hire them to makes things or do things for them..so they have money to buy stuff they need ..sold by greedy people who make mores stuff than they need by hiring people..

anyone not willing to provide any service of value.. who expects to get money or things of value from someone else ..is greedy ..

sorry if i was kind of rambling.. i had to tone it down and avoid feeling to angry .. because I live in the US ..i was born in A country that once believed in freedom of speech.. and one believed that people had a right to what they earned .. to the fruits of their own labor ..and mostly everyone understood they had to provide for their own needs .. and the system gave people basic skills to do that ..

Now It is run by a dualistic tyranny of the offended .. where people who believe in God .. go to church on sunday .. are seen as some kind of weirdo by othere.. and the littlest thing utterd in public that seems offencive to someone ..will get you you dressed down and maybe sued .. and where everything you said bought and did was not tracked and recorded .
the future of America .. is not communisim or martial law.. ..it is a combination of what you see going on in Southern europe and what happened in argentinaabout 10 years ago.. and russia after it's currency collapsed ..

Eventually the rich people get tired of you taking their money and move where you can't get your hands on it ..

    Hey Odahh-

You're right that too much greed- and the wrong kinds of greed- are definitely bad, that's not what I was talking about.

I'm talking about the kind of greed and desire that makes us push ourselves and grow. Businesses either grow or die. Economies either grow or die.

Pushing yourself a bit is good.

Pure contentment- never wanting to strive for bigger and better- doesn't always end well.

I have had my troubles and ben broke most of my life ..partly to avoid having enough money to get into drugs. and other bad stuff.. but i have been heavy into learning and gaining knowledge and growing spiritually .. so i never really latched onto the materialistic seeking ideals ..

recently in my growth 3to 4 months ago.. there was realization .. i may have been monks and religious people in past lives .. but i took no vow of poverty in this life ..and my guidance has been filling in a future vision for me ..of how i can make a good amount of money and help a lot of people ..

there are two kinds of people.. who are in all social levels.. those who add value to things.. and those who consume more than they add.

If you are making money adding value.. is is good

If you are doing what the big banks are doing and making money via fraud.. or you are a pimp making money off underaged girls chained in your secret brothel .. or someone in perfect health who is collecting disability because they set something up with their doctor ..

the system has taught people to massivle under value themselves ..

one thing i trained myself to respond to .. was when you hear ..the people who are outraged when someone spend 100 grand to provide ice sculptures for a party.. or 50 k for a new watch ..

I love to cook .. but if i was to do the open a resteraunt thing.. or even a pizza shop.. id craft a pizza people where willing to pay 100$ for ..

I wouldn' use the word 'greedy' but rather 'ambitious' So I am grateful at the same time I have ambition. But I know to make a lot of money online I have to provide a great lt of value too. Or else I will fail in the long run, even if I see short bursts of profits.

I think everybody should aim te become rich in financial, emotional and spiritual areas. I call it "The Science of Getting Rich" like the book from Wallace D. Wattles. People who have negative opinions towards other people have limiting beliefs about weatlh and money blocks themselves. Lots of people are jeaulous, angry with or resentful towards rich people.

These are all blocks keeping them from money, most do not realize this. I know I did'nt when I was younger. The difference is I started listening to succesful people and not my neigbour or surroundings who have never been succesful.

I have been going to mediation and spiritual meetings for years. In my experience in spiritual circles they tend to think negatively about making a lot of money, driving a nice car or have a big house.I am not saying everybody does, but the groups I attendeD the majority had issues with this.

I see it like this if God created everything then he also created wealth, mansions, sportscars and more. Mostly the only thing they could come up with is this. They say be happy with what you have and pyou should not focus to much on money. Then the lottery comes and the people saying that are the people who buy the most tickets and talk about winninf the lottery the most...

One millionaire businessman once said the lottery is one of the worst things that exist, it makes people think they are not smart enough to make that money themselves. It's putting your power outside of you...

Though i have studied a great number of spiritual concepts ..the masses of people get the wrong view of wealth and stuff ..from the teaching that the teaching never meant to give..

Jesus talked about nothing but abundance and living abundantly..he didn't teach people to be poor ..he taught people that they should be in a place that they should always be able to give someone who really needed it the jacket off their back.. because they had no trouble replacing it themselves ..

even zen budism i believe is misunderstood .. because that type of spiritual practice is more about escapeing the human experience or coping with the human experience .. and that stuff and the gathering of stuff keeps you to attached here ..

My views interpreted from lots of study ..

IIs that the wealth we earn and the stuff we have should be their to support and improve the experience of now.. and we shoul;d get into the mode where we will have the best experience now ..

unfortunatly for most people the experience stay in their head and never really appears in reality .. they work to earn the money to buy the stuff.. dreaming about having it .. then they go buy it and almost about the time they get it home .. they start thinking of the next thing to have .. or that they didn't get the upgraded model.. or any number of things that..deny the joy in the actually having .. then comes the fear of losing and the attachment to the item because the dreams it reperesented ..
