You can not turn the wind so turn the sail

Fellow Warriors,
I write this thread as I watch a beautiful African sunset. I've travelled to many places yet I've always returned home to this great continent, not a perfect continent, just a great one.
What makes it so great? Apart from its majestic deltas, great lakes, untamed jungles, sometimes angry shores and breath taking fields and wildlife, it's the people that gives me hope. Yes there are some real rotten apples here as everywhere else, however as I go about my day, I come across men and women that care, that want to lift her out of poverty, that want to root out corruption, that want to improve basic services such as water and sanitation to the masses, that want to work and more importantly that want to live a happy life. There's an old Swahili saying that goes: "You cannot turn the wind, so turn the sail". We're trying to turn the sail and are coming across many opportunities to serve here.
Every African sunrise brings renewed hope to the more than 1.2 billion people that call this home. So tonight I reach out to all my fellow warriors and send you warm African love and respect with a reminder that attempts on the sea of life to turn the winds are futile, but you have control over the sails.
Turn them if you have to...

I like to wander in the serengetti and observe the wildlife in Africa, but it might be intimidating as well so for now I am better off watching it on tv. One of the rare places on Earth where you can explore wildlife to its fullest.

I like that quote " If you can't change the direction of the wind, adjust your sails". Things never go our way and our desire so we need to be flexible.

I have found that there are times when things go my way, perhaps others may see it as luck...but we all know the saying (and I'm paraphrasing) - luck is where practice and opportunity meet.

The set of the sail determines out results we get. If we don't like what is on and want to get better.....reset the sail. Love it, can almost see your sunset when I close my eyes. beautiful. Have a geat day!

I like that. Wind will not always blow for us. We have to adjust accordingly to reach our destination. When the odds are against us, it's a test of our resolution and skill to adjust our sail. Keep learning and improving our knowledge and skill.

Reminds me of the Jim Rohn quote,

"We can not change our destination over night, but we can change our course." Same principle.

There is real power in changing course, the energy that is created by the propspect of a new destination is amazing. Our challenge is often to maintain that initial vision of a more promising future that made us change course.

Hey Everyone .... I would just like to welcome Tommy on the forum, he is a very good personal friend of mine infact we were at his home today for tea. He is a genuine fantastic person and has been a huge inspiration to me and my family. So if my endorsement means anything I would just like to say that he is worth listening to and any help that warriors can offer him on his online Journey will be taken with both hands.

    Thanks

Changing course may also rip the sail if not done with care and a measure of planning, especially in a storm. I have found that changing the sail for me has always been a process not an event. But the fact remains, especially in a storm, that the only prospect of survival is to change the sail.
