When you know more - you're convinced you know nothing.

I remember in college I had a professor give me a good analogy about his schooling and how he had come to be an 'expert' in his field - and how he had viewed his authority in his field as well. (He has published many works and books and is very well known in his circles)

He said:

"When you get your Bachelor's degree, you feel like you know everything.

When you get your Master's degree, you begin to doubt what you've learned.

When you get your Doctorate degree, you're convinced you know nothing."

I find this very interesting, even as I have been labeled as somewhat of an 'expert' in my field. I find that I learn every. single. day. And I read and study every day as well.

I think that when you convince yourself (and attempt to convince others) that you are the absolute superlative of knowledge-- that is when your decline begins, and your authority as an expert can-- and should be questioned.

Maybe it's time to experiment more. And by saying that I mean, when you achieved a high level of knowledge, you don't even know where to start, because you keep thinking what NOT to do, you are afraid of failure.
And when you don't know that much, you are free to experiment, you don't know what to expect and I think that is awesome, you are going to learn as a result of your own experience and not by what you've read about other people experiences.

It takes a wise man, to realize he's not as smart as he thinks he is!

      LOL

You can quote me on that.

I'm not sure it makes sense but I'm sure someone will figure it out.

Hmmm. I tapped out my education after a bachelor degree. May explain a lot.
