Hi Everyone,

I've literally just signed up to Warrior Forum a few minutes ago and thought I would just send a shout out and say Hi to all.

I hope this is not in the wrong section

Just a quick intro:
I'm Dean, from Australia, father of 4, and I am a complete and utter NOOBIE to internet marketing.

I have decided, after many years, to actually jump in with both feet so to speak. I wanted to do this for a long time now, but never have - all useless excuses.

I've spent about 3 weeks now just trying to learn, reading lots of sites, forums, and ebooks etc about internet marketing. I found Warrior Forum a couple of weeks ago, and just signed up today. I chose the $10 initial member fee because I'm not sure if the Warrior Room is of any benefit to such a noobie - I hope that wasn't a mistake.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

I've been reading lots of posts here and wanted to ask lots of questions. Now that I'm a member I can Be gentle.

Looking forward to learning a lot from you Guru's

Dean

There are various coaching programs available with personal mentoring involved...Of course you need to pay for these kind of programs but it is well worth it...

You need someone who can guide you well instead of going threw all the b.s products first

This has been my problem. Over the years I have actually bought heaps of programs from the big names in IM (you can fill in the blanks) ... and I have nver progressed. All because I was too busy watching, learning, and never did anything.

This time, I am 100% committed, and I have vowed NOT to buy any programs ... I will read, implement, practice, make mistakes etc.

      But I will DO!

If I start buying programs, I will repeat my previous mistakes of playing with new shiny things, getting overloaded, and doing nothing.

Gotta agree with that mentoring idea!
I'm kinda new myself but 1 thing I can say is to get started right away.
Reading and learning is all good but the only way to get somewhere is to start
doing something...anything will do, as long as you keep doing something.

      100% agree with you.

This time around, day 1, I started a blog. Its my own personal blog of my journey to making money online.

I am using this blog to keep me focused, and to keep interested and inspired. Today is Day 20.

The mere fact I started DOING something, is different than my last couple of years lol.

Please, keep the feedback and ideas coming ... I need them badly

Hey Dean, welcome. You started off in a GREAT section of the Warrior Forum. Anyhow, a quick tip:

Go to the upper right corner of the screen and click the link that will say "Welcome, DeanGG" From there you'll have your user options. Find your way to the option to change your signature, and put a link to your blog down there so after every post people get exposed to the link. Some of em will even click on it.

Also, if somebody is helpful, hit the "Thanks" button.
Haha, seriously, welcome to a great forum.

    Hi Dean,

    Welcome to the warrior forum.

This is by far the best forum out there when it comes to internet marketing. There is a lot of stuff and people here to learn from.

    Best of luck to you.

Loving the Warrior Forum so far, but whoa, so much to learn.

Anyone else suffer from information overload?

    Welcome Dean!

I will chime in and agree with the mentor suggestion. Your mentor will keep you on track but will also help you avoid their mistakes. Find someone you connect with, someone you resonate with and someone who has the success you'd like to have. Then follow in their footsteps.

I think nearly everyone here at one point or another has suffered from info overload! You're not alone in that.

Where would I go about connecting with someone who mentors?

      Did you use one too?

I have had a few mentors, one in internet marketing and another in copywriting. I actually found my IM mentor and my copywriting mentors through Craigslist ads! My IM mentor taught me the basics of IM and my copywriting mentor had me help her with research & smaller projects so she could focus on bigger picture items.

I think the most important thing you can do to find someone is to get clear on what you want - out of your mentoring experience and out of your career - and then you'll know how to find a mentor and how to choose the best coaching program for you.

laraGTN that's DEAD ON. It's easy to see a successful IMer that's offering a coaching program and bite. If you're not on the same wavelength though, you could very easily end up in a subsection that you didn't want to be in. Take your time and find the right match.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

It is quite easy to get distracted with all the threads on this forum - don't let yourself get sucked into the information cyclone. Like most things in life, the best way to learn is through your own personal experiences. Find your niche and do your best to own it. Good luck!

    Hi Dean,

I just found an Australian-only forum today you could look into:

Flying Solo: Small Business Management Advice, Support & Development in Australia

I can't join because my IP isn't in Australia, but it looks like a nice place to hang out.

Pick one thing and stick to it. Don't rush from one thing to the next because "that looks shiny and amazing!" Information overload, as others have said, is very easy to run into here. You can make money with any method...but you have to figure out how to make it work for you. Most people give up too soon, or spend their time daydreaming instead of trying things out. Lots of methods do not require much startup money--I made my first sales having spent under $10 on a domain registration...and you don't even need to do that because you can get a free website.

Don't buy anything until after you know what you want to do--and only when you are certain whatever it is can specifically help you achieve that.

    Hi All,

Can I just say, I'm loving the Warrior Forum - learning so much.

But, can I also say, the WSO deals coming to my inbox everyday is like giving candy to a diabetic.

So many shiny new things ... very very distracting for a newbie

  • I'm right with you man. Skeptical as hell and done months of research. Only failures and I feel like everyone online is just scamming me. I'm interested in a mentor too. I don't really trust that anyone is here for non self-serving wants but I'm desperate, which I guess makes me the perfect mark. I'm also paranoid and I don't have much money so I'm not ready to spend hundreds buying THE million dollar making auto pilot scam. So I'd like it if people cut the BS. Anyways, I'm with you. I need help getting started too.
