I second Patho's votes for Remember the Titans and The Pursuit of Happyness. I'll add two of my favorites: Dead Poets Society, Bull Durham () and Love Actually. The last two inspire me on a personal level - just to stay in a state of grace and love knowing things work out perfectly.

I just recently watched The Life of Pi, and I can say that blown me away! I have not found survival instincts that strong. Awesome movie!

The guy was always told he was too small, not talented enough etc., but he kept persisting on joining the Notre Dame football team.
