30 Mental Fast Challenge

I would like to put this challenge out there to all you warriors...I have noticed in some in the threads that many people want to get focused and positive. Stay away from negativity or get started on the path to personal development.

I would like to add my 2 cents in the form of a challenge.

I learned this from one of my mentor's named Jerry Clark. This challenge is very simple to do and simple not to do. It will help you create self-discipline, maintain a positive attitude, get focused, and improve your state of mind and happiness. Many might find it too impossible but I tell you it is. I know many of my friends have done it and it has changed their life for the better. When I first did this with my wife and 2 kids it was amazing the changes that took place. Especially with my kids. It only seems tough but it is really one of those simple decisions that will have a big impact on your life.

So here it goes...

30 Days Mental Fast
For the next 30 days make a commitment to yourself that you will do the following everyday:

  1. Read something empowering/uplifting everyday for 15 min each day.
  2. NO TV - Don't watch any TV for the next 30 days. Especially the NEWS. That is the worst thing you could watch.
  3. NO Radio - Listen to CD audio programs, self improvement audios, learning cds, etc.. NO music with lyrics.
  4. NO Newspaper - Don't read the newspaper or the online news.
  5. Drink plenty of water
  6. Limit your association with negative people.
  7. Spend at least 30 min a day exercising/working out
  8. Spend a few minutes each day reflecting on your goals, dreams, ambitions. Review who you want to be, what you have to do, what you will have in your life.
Remember this is for 30 days. After the 30 days you could go back to a less restrictive routine, but many choose not to because of the improvements they see in themselves and what they are able to accomplish.

You can do it...

I'll testify to this one. I've tried a similar "mental fast" and saw some amazing results. It really puts the whole world in perspective (not to mention it drains a lot of depression right out!)
