5 Ways to Find Happiness

Success can be defined in many different ways depending on the individual. Some would say being successful means being a millionaire, others would say it means being happy. Well, whatever your definition of success, here are five useful tips to help you find your success fast…

1. Be Happy Now!

Whatever your goal may be, whats the purpose behind it? I want you to really think about this. Why do you have certain goals? What do you wish to attain when they are accomplished? The real influence behind any goal is the feeling you get because you have it! It’s the emotions you feel, the happiness, the joy, the Love, the feeling of accomplishment, the feeling of self worth… These are the reasons behind any goal. So why not have those feelings now?! Why can’t you feel the way you would when you buy that new car? You can, and if you do, your goals will be given to you in the quickest way possible. New ideas, new direction, new possibilities and opportunities will begin to show themselves in order for you to have that car. Try it out! I know you’re gonna Love the results.

2. Forgive Yourself.

Why do people lie? Have you ever thought about that? People lie because they are either embarrassed or ashamed of what they did or what they didn’t do, so they lie about it to make themselves feel better. Well in reality, when you lie, you are only lying to everyone else, but you can’t ever lie to yourself. All the lies that you tell become a part of who you are as they eventually become false truth, but the real truth remains, and this will take a tole on your emotions and bring you down. In order to stop lying about things, you must forgive yourself from all the things you are ashamed of having done, or having not done. Forgiveness is the key to starting a fresh, new life that which you can be proud of, and have no reasons to lie. Forgiving yourself will lead to being humble, and being humble will lead to confidence, and confidence leads to having no fears. And when you rid all the fear from your life, nothing is impossible.

3. Have Confidence.

Confidence is often confused with ego, or cockiness. What’s the difference? Well it’s simple really. Confidence means you do things for yourself, and don’t worry about what others say or think about you because you know yourself and your reasons better than anyone else. Ego or cockiness means you do things for everyone else except yourself and you become the person judging the person with confidence. You demand attention to yourself hoping to find Love and acceptance while looking outwards, when you can only find Love and acceptance looking inwards.

Do you honestly believe that you can change the world? Answer honestly. Now think about this, do you believe that the individuals who did change the world did so by worrying about what others thought of them? No way! They changed the world because they were 100% confident in themselves and believed 100% that they could do it! Nobody stood in their way, because when it comes down to it, you are the only thing that stops you from doing anything you want in your life.

4. Become Fearless.

Fear is a very tricky emotion to overcome, but there is one proven and surefire way to do it; believe.

5. Believe In Yourself.

This, just as everything else roots back to self confidence. You’ll notice a patter within everything we talk about, and that is that it all leads back to one thing… self. Life is a do-it-yourself project, and nobody can make it worse or better for you other than… you!

So whether your idea of success is a million bucks, being happy, content, finding Love, buying your dream home, your dream car… whatever it may be. It all leads back to what? You. You hold the power in you to do/be/have anything you want. Believe in yourself, you can do it. I’ll leave you with a few quotes to ponder on for a while so that it all sets in.

“Belief in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable faith in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”

-Norman Vincent Peale

“If you don’t design your own life, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plans. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”

-Jim Rohn

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”

-Hellen Keller

Great Post :-)! I agree with your choice of attitudes that are important to find happiness. One that can be difficult to adopt and that lots of people don't think about because it is counterintuitive is the idea of Being Happy now, in the present moment instead of waiting for whatever you want or desire to happen first before you feel happy. Imagine, visualize and feel NOW the way you would feel when you have that new car or that new house.

I like those. I have three to add.

    6. Solve problems in life.

    7. Do things that are least potentially enjoyable, and ideally significantly enjoyable.

    8. Form meaningful and enjoyable relationships.

Good post. I might add "do not be afraid to fail"...

I think we would all be happier if we knew it was o.k. to fail and went ahead and tried different things in our Internet businesses because of that.

Best of luck in 2014 everyone!

        Ok,

I've thought about this for a long time.

"Service to others". Want to be happy? Be of service to others.

Being self confident won't make you happy. Serving others makes you happy.

        Try it.

They're all good points from OP.

However if there had to be one, I would agree with Claude. Not only will service to others make you happy (and¾hopefully¾make them happy) it will also make you wealthy. In fact, I would say success as an Entrepreneur is all about being of service. : )

            Jonathan 2.0,

Very true... That reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

Forgiveness and Acceptance would be the two most important inner motivation you can have.

Forgiving yourself for the mistakes you have done or not done and accepting the fact that you can't have a perfect world and a perfect self.

The only thing you can do is do what you have to do and be confident about it whatever the outcome is.

Great post, great thoughts, thank you!

My suggestion for number 6: "Respect yourself, respect others". If I argue with somebody or notice that I haven't respected people, I always feel unhappy afterwards. If I don't respect myself I also feel unhappy. For any relationship respect is the most important thing. If there is no respect, there is nothing.

    TheDreamerSpot,

    An excellent post...

    As far as fear goes......

It reminds me of an Anthony Robbins' quote:

"Events ONLY have the meaning we assign to them."

To me, this relates to fear of failure.......

    You will fail.... no doubt....

    That isn't "stinkin' thinkin'."

    It is true........

Everyone on this Earth has failed at many things....

What is important is how you react to those failures...

We can look at it as "failure" or a "learning experience." The choice is ours.

    All The Best,
