A Great Book - J.F. Straw

My mentor told me about J.F. Straw a while ago and I've been reading about him and got some of his free reports. He's a genius.

Today I bought his new book called Mustard Seeds, Shovels and Mountains and it's amazing! I can't put it down.

Straw passed away recently and this was his last work. He did 500 Million in sales over his career (or some crazy number like that). If you want to learn about business from an old school, no BS type of guy, buy this book.

I got it for like $4 on Kindle!

Hum I have never heard of this book. But from the way that you have described it, it does sound interesting to me. I will have to see about getting it for my kindle. I just love good books that you are not able to put down. Hopefully this one is like that for me.

@ Wade - I never knew he was a warrior forum member.

@Heart - I finished it in about 2 hours of reading time (80 pages) and I'm reading it again now and taking notes. This is one, in my opinion, that a business person should keep on their desk. I'd rank this one up with Think and Grow Rich. I know that sounds crazy but I found it that good!

I didn't know Jim was deceased. I guess that is why I no longer get his email. I was on his site a day or two ago because there is a report of his that I want. but it is $99 and I don't spend that much too quickly. I am a tight wad.

Wow, I am bummed. Jim was quite a fellow. I know Alan was a big fan of his.

Yeah he died in December I believe. Anything the guy put out I'd read. He was a genius.

        Lexi,

Jim was a friend of mine. I had talked with him about a week before he passed away. I've known him for many years. I do miss calling and talking with him.

Here is a link to a post I put up last year right after Jim passed away. J.F. (Jim) Straw Passed Away 12/3/12

          Hi, all!

I was Jim's publisher. Thank you for your kind words about "Mustard Seeds, Shovels, & Mountains." It's truly a great book. Yes, I might be a little biased, but it's ultimately true. What I like most about the book is that yes, it is short, but there is not on unnecessary or wasted word in it. Like a well composed symphony or a great work of art or perfect ad copy, nothing can be added to it nor can anything be taken from it. It's all Jim: clean, purposeful, to-the-point, and compelling.

In short, if you haven't read it, do so because you'll love it.

I don't know if this is the right place to do this, but...

When Jim and I released the book, we did so with some bonuses for those who purchased. There were a few videos of Jim and a couple of e-books from other people. One e-book was by Bob Bly, the copywriting legend.

If you get a copy of the book, zap me an email. I'll email you a link so you can download those bonuses. I'm not asking for any proof of purchase. We'll use the honor system for this. Keep it simple.

It's good to see so many people remembering Jim. He was a true gentleman.

          All the BEST!

That's exactly why I arranged that meeting because you and Mr. Straw...because I knew that you'd be the perfect publisher for that particular project.

Jim Straw was truly the last of the Mohicans....they don't make 'em like him anymore...they never will.

Jim and I JV'd on Viral Video Intros and sold out. He was my top affiliate for Barter Arbitrage and I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him here in Florida doing a series of video interviews and sipping Kentucky Woman.

At the risk of getting this thread banned I can't give u the link......but will tell you that I did one of the last interviews Jim ever did.....live on Blog Talk Radio....just Google search it.

That show went a well deserved NUMBER ONE.......and is archived for free at Blog Talk Radio......just punch in his name.

As for Jim's book....it will go down as his legacy. I believe every bit as brilliant as Think and Grow Rich.....and written by the guy WHO ACTUALLY DID IT.

I truly miss the old master and my friend........bourban always tasted good with Jim.

    Stay Legendary,

    Vegas Vince

Yes! Excellent interview with Jim. Find and listen to this. Please note that Jim did not do interviews often. Towards the end, he was a little hard of hearing and avoided the telephone quite a bit.
