If we are ALL going to die one day, why is fear stopping us?

I guess my question is why do we let our fears stop us?

Well, there are many kinds of fear.

    It depends.

Fear of death, fear of regret, fear of guilt and so on.

Because up until we are a teenager, most of us are in that childlike state where we fear little, and are incurably curious. Then come's puberty, parents and rules, negative programming and mostly poor quality influences.

If you're really lucky and have some great mentors during this period, you'll get through mildly unscathed, for the majority they'll need some reprogramming - Brian Tracy to help them with their goals, T Harv Eker and Robert Kyosaki to correct their money blueprint, Jack Canfield to relay the success principles, and Napoleon Hill to think and grow rich.

Oh and fear? Well we need Susan Jeffers (RIP) and her seminal Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway for that.

I think the greatest fear comes from the fear of failure. Because we will take a considerably amount of damage when we failed, the collateral damage after trying will cost us good amount of money, time, and energy. SO, when reality is far from expectation, we will fear the future. Only the brave one can survive this problem.

Fear is a matter of choice. It's when you decide to be afraid (unconsciously) that fear takes place. I mean, fear is your friend. Without it, you wouldn't recognize negative effects, danger or ill will. It's our mind that's amplifying things a bit.

        To your question:

It's the purpose, the fact that you still have reason to live that makes you fear the end.

There's no point being brave and commit suicide. The wise knows the before-hand and knows how to prepare for it.

I agree. Fear of failure is definitely a common one.

For many people failure can actually be "painful" and most people will try and avoid pain at all costs, rather than actually facing it head on and learning something from the experience. See, it's not actually failure that is holding people back ¾ it's their perception (or relationship, if you like) of failure.

One of my favourite quotations from IBM Founder, Thomas J. Watson is: "Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It's quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure."

Success, then, is built on failure, and every time you learn something from failure you take a massive step in the direction of your goals/dreams/etc. (Essentially, you're doubling you rate of progress.)

Being confronted by the prospect that you may die or, actually, that you are dying can be a strong motivator into making the most of your life and all the time you have left. : )

"Every man dies, not every man really lives." ¾ Mel Gibson, Braveheart.

I love this quote I heard from Bob Proctor," Most of us tip toe through life hoping to make it safely to death"

We are conditioned, my love, to be fearful. It takes a real awakening to step out of man made fears-mass consciousness and into individual thinking-fearlessness. We were born natural risk takers. The rest we were taught.

There is fear even when you breath. Who knows you will due to heart attack?

There is fear only when there is risk. When you risk your money on any product, you have the fear about its quality.

When you risk to sell a product, you have the fear for refund without getting your product back.

Risk and fear are two very important things needed for success. If you're ready to risk your efforts abd money and dodge the fear of negative consequenses, no one can stop you from being successful.

      The answer is dead simple.

There is only 1 fear that exists.

      The fear of pain.

No matter what the type of pain, we naturally and instinctly fear pain. Why? Cause it hurts!

I know this is related to marketing, but on a obvious level, because we afraid to die.

If you make a mistake where you can't afford to buy food to eat, water to drink, shelter to live under, you'll be left out in the cold, hungry, and thirsty.

Our fears only stop us when we believe the story they are giving to us.

If we can believe other things that what our fears say, or if we can feel the fear but persist regardless of it, then it is likely that we will find the success that we really do want to have.

Maybe, if we die, we are afraid to live our family behind. Afraid that our plans will not be completed if we die. Afraid that we cannot fulfill our dreams before we die. And afraid of death itself.

Because you do not live alone.

You have people around you like family, friends etc.

Your fearless behavior may screw someone's life.

So you don't cross that line while you do w/e you like to do.

    Inevitability not does equal acceptance.

Because we can't avoid it doesn't mean we are fearless but

I think it is a heavy question with many possible answers.

It is not always fear that holds people back. For example, some can suffer from the serious burden of over-information. I think many of us here can appreciate that, all ready to embark on some PPC or SEO adventure before being derailed by all the negative aspects about it we've read elsewhere.

And let's face it - most people have zero fear of success when they are actually making money. If you discover a simple, repeatable technique that consistently delivers a positive ROI, then you rinse and repeat the heck out of that. It's the discovery that can be the hard part.

Because the comfort level of where we are is not as scary as the unknown of where we might go. In other words, the fear of the future unknown is a greater force than the safety of the future known.

I am of the belief that since hope is stronger than fear we tend to get through the day pretty well. But if we allow fear to consume us, however it may be applied to us, then fear will generally win out. The great thing about hope is that it's like a self lighting flame. We just need to conjure it up and despite fear, since hope is stronger, we can get along.

If we are running on a stream of hope which then leads to courage motivation temperance and the other related things we are able to tackle larger things as long as we can keep that hope stream alive. Fear is the crap that settles within you that releases all the anti-traits of the positive motivation to momentarily dwindle.

The moment we allow fear in we tend to lose that stream of motivation. That is why we need to create habit out of seeing the positive and distinguishing goals worth following from a world filled with a ton of distractions and drivel crap that brings us down.

without fear we wouldn't last very long, in a dangerous situation it's fear that increases our adrenaline levels allowing us to think/react faster.

If you never worried and never experienced fear you wouldn't ever think things through before you acted.

Maybe fear is a feeling that keep us kind of excited too, in some way.
Once you overcome that feeling, once you succeed, the feeling of happiness and victory is even stronger.
