How I've managed to get more done, in less time

Hey Warriors

I thought I'd share with you all incase it helps you as it has me. Over recent weeks I've found I've managed to get more done online which is something I used to struggle with.

I don't know about you but I find there's a LOT of ways to get distracted online and time passes bye and not much gets done in terms of moving things forward to making money.

What I've done recently is actually have focused blocks of time where I do nothing other than work on my plan.

Obviously this means you need to actually have a plan and know what you're working towards, but once you have that and can follow it turn everything else off.

Don't have facebook open and turn Skype off. These are the 2 biggest things that used to distract me all the time!

Now I work in blocks of 60 minutes and then have some time either doing things like Facebook or actually coming away from the computer all together!

I've found that I'm getting so much more done and in less time than ever!

Hope that helps!

Craig

    Hey Craig,

Thanks for sharing this useful information.

I wanted just to ask you, are you a member of some of the Alex Jeffreys coaching programs?

I have to agree wholeheartedly. I feel like a bouncing bullet in an empty freight train car sometimes with all the distractions.

Fact is, if I don't turn everything off (particularly email), but also Skype, phone, etc. then I'm like the dog in that animated movie (forgot the name), that is the middle of licking his masters face and having a conversation with him, then jerks his head and yells, "Squirrel". Now, that I can relate to - the squirrel part that is!

Yep, you have to block time out and shut everything else down. At least for me, I can't focus with all the outside distractions. Good point, thanks for the post.

Good post. The Action Enforcer software is great for this.

Agree, it is a big advantage o finish your work early. At least you have time to relax after work without pressure, and you can do everything you like as early as you can. Nice post dude.

The single biggest time-saver for me is switching my iPhone 5 to "Do Not Disturb". You don't get any notifications or phone calls (unless they ring more than once). If it's anyone important then they leave me voice mail otherwise I know it's a sales call which I just ignore.

good tips! I also find writing lists of my daily goals is handy, there is something really satisfying about ticking off tasks on a list, especially at the end of the day when you have a visual of what you have achieved

Here's one for the list that most of you probably won't do - turn email notification off. Especially on your phone. No I'm not saying take your email off your phone (that would be CRAZY, right?) But you don't need to be notified of every message when it comes in, because if it's something simple it's too easy to stop what you're doing and shoot a quick reply - and when you do that several times a day it breaks your focus from what you're supposed to be doing. Just get in the habit of checking manually at stopping points.
