Ben Shapiro quote: "The reason people are permanently poor in the US..."

I didn't hear Shapiro make any controversial statements, he simply stated some facts and his opinion about those facts, really self-evident conclusions.

Now what seemed highly controversial was the fact that a teacher tried to deny the high school students an opportunity to hear relevant and useful facts being discussed. What that teacher did seemed to me to be outrageous and clearly against any open and free discussion of ideas, ideas that were being discussed in a civil manner, and well reasoned. In fact, those ideas are part of the core concepts of economics.

Why would a teacher not want students exposed to knowledge about economics? This is basic Adam Smith economics, not at all controversial, it is the basis for economic science of a free society.

Clearly, many students were objecting to the teacher's attempt at denying them basic knowledge on how economics works., What's up with that? Why would a school let students anywhere near a teacher like that? I would never tolerate a child of mine attending a school with such ignorant intolerant anti-American teacher.

That's my opinion, I found the video shocking, not for what Ben Shapiro said, but for how the teacher tried to deny students from being exposed to basic economic science. It came across to me like that high school is involved in some kind of cult-like brainwashing of it's students. If you have kids going there, I suggest you get them out as quickly as you can. Scary that things like that can happen in America.

People are born poor and become rich every day in America, and plenty of people are born rich only to become poor. It's not what you are given, it's what you do with what you have that makes all the difference.

Seems to be - being a world traveler for years, and spending much of last year and this year in my home state in the US - that many Americans have learned the art of acquiring and spending money but have no idea how to live. Literally. No freedom. Biatch to a schedule.

Americans on average make a ton more dough compared to the rest of the world but give up our freedom, our health and wellness in order to acquire the money. Freedom meaning in many ways, our time.

I agree sometimes it is a mindset. But for example every accomplishment I have had and every hardship I have had I endured them with no kids so I can certainly understand with what others who have alot more to deal with.

What would the success guides of Ray Kroc or Mark Zuckerburg be? Steal Success! Don't look back!

One thing we can do is try to open as many eyes as possible to the possibilities of Success. I try to do this each and every day.

Yep some people would rather play video games but I tell them this Internet is a Goldmine that I wish I had at their ages.

Good quote and I agree with it. However, people in the United States are often permanently poor because they are lazy, defeated, negative and simply have become a part of the living dead. We watch the zombie apocalypse on tv, but we are living it with all those people walking around working long hours, exhausted thinking they are doing what they are supposed to do.

Step outside the wide, beaten path and create your own path through the high weeds, tall trees and the challenges that lie ahead.

being on the ground ..where poor people or permanantly poor people are people i have been around much of my life ..so it is not some them i am guessing at ..

it is actually very expensive to be poor ..poor people in the Us not only are not taught anything about managing money in school.. they are not taugh thing like cooking andhow to shop and save money..they buy thing .. in small amounts .. or prepared food that is more expensive.. many don't have checking accounts so when they get a pay check they need to go to a check cashing place.. or they get payday loans which are very high interest rates..

beer ciggarets .. are highly taxed and mainly fall on the poor .. and lottery mainly hit poor people and lower middle class ..and in many areas .. the police generate revenue by writing nusence tickets to poor people or using civil asset forfiture to legally steal ..

then add most poor people are on some kind of government assictance ..so if they make to much money or try to improve their lives they get punished with loss of benifits that are much greater than the extra they made .

get the woman and children on welfare ..send the children to horrible schools .. and build lot of for profit prisons so the state get 30,000 -60,000 a year for ever poor peson that can lock up for a drug offence ..
