Many people dismiss self-improvement tips like that but they have helped me get through the tough slog of building an online business. For you to be rich on the outside, you have to be rich on the inside first. Your inner world dictates your outer world.

Jim Rohn is one of the best out there. If you don't know this guy, make sure to get a few of his audiobooks, I promise that you'll thank the OP later.

EDIT: Thanks, Andre. Jim Rohn is one of the best, no doubt about it.

I'm a huge fan of Jim Rohn. There are plenty of really great talks or programs of his on YouTube. Another couple of great speakers and self development guys along the same lines I really like are Earl Nightingale & Zig Ziglar. Those are my three favorites by far, but in my opinion Rohn is the best of them all.

Jim Rohn is an old-school self-development guru.

He's different because he's very down to earth. He won't lie to you about the law of attraction or that you can achieve anything by doing nothing.

No. Instead he promotes things like hard work, exercising, good relationships, etc. It's like a less energetic version of Tony Robbins - far easier to listen than Tony. Tony sends about the same message in a different form but he's way too hard to listen for me.

PS: Work is a big part of success too. Work first. Self improvement second.

If you ever the feeling that you are sick from all the chaos and then start thinking that the world must change, then it will be useless if you change yourself first. Take action and change yourself, improve your skills and mindset then that's the time you can inspire other people your story.

Don't focus too much on your weaknesses before you start working. You have to take action first and along the way, you will learn different things including what you need to improve. For effective self-improvement, you need to know what aspects you are not productive at and that's the time you think on how to improve this.

We could start a great thread on the masters of self improvement and positive thinking who have passed away, but still live in the published works.

Jim Rohn would be at the top of the list. Napolean Hill, Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, Og Mandino, W. Clement Stone, Norman Vincent Peale also come to my mind right away.
