    Absolutely go for it.

I group all the relaxing modalities into a group, and invest in one of them regularly (acupuncture, massage, meditation classes, reiki, crystals, etc.).

I consider myself a pragmatic person, so this is how I explain its power: They have proved that babies can get sick and die if they are not loved and paid attention to.

What happens to us, when we do not have the love and attention that we need?

What you pay attention to grows. When I am on the table, I feel like for the first time all week I am in a space where I can let go, surrender... and I know it sounds korny, but just allow someone to appreciate me.

I have seen huge results in my creativity, peace of mind, energy levels and health.

I would say, just make sure that you connect with the Reiki Practitioner. If you can, meet them before you schedule. If you just do not vibe with them, it can feel like a waste of money. (Some will add their own flavor, like past life stuff which I am not really into, and it is good to know that before hand).

I've looked in Reiki very briefly. It's not something I explored beyond balancing the shakras.

Next week however I'm beginning the study of QiGong and looking forward to it!

I got a Reiki treatment once in Sedona, Arizona. I was bored and felt nothing. The lady who did the energy work was not trained and we ended up talking the entire session (probably because I was so bored). There was no relaxation. I think it depends on who the person is.. they have to be energetically on a higher vibration than yours.. otherwise, he/she can make you feel drained out (as though someone stole your energy) Be careful with energy healing... make sure the person is skilled and trained professionally.

I'm into lucid dreaming and I would say "you go for it!" I wish you all the best experiences with Reiki. I have lots of friends who're into Reiki too and they always tell all this wonderful experiences they had.

People who do these different modalities have varied levels of experience. You may have a reiki session and feel nothing with one person but the next person could turn your life upside down.
I believe it's vital to be broadminded about health. I personally have a lot of medical issues and regularly have massage and chiropractic. I am also meditate at home.

Occasionally I also take up some of the others such as reiki, etc.
You have nothing to lose by trying it for yourself.
Just don't have any expectations and let things occur naturally.
