Maybe too much procrastination rooted from overwhelmed situations?

Sometimes we feel helpless and ready to run away from something to

start with when a seemingly small task turns into a negative thought.

I have this experience before and now what I did is to face it rather

than running away with it. It might seem small but with the negative

thoughts it can be amplified.

Have you been procrastinating lately?

Procrastination is a killer! Sucks all of your motivation, which in turn keeps you from being as successful as you want to be. I often find myself getting negative and down, man, but you've got to get mad and counter your negativity with a ruthless aggression. You've got to push through, fight through.

Some real talk, though - outside the hype: Coffee. I make a cup of coffee, get mad, and then try my damnedest to accomplish what I can. Usually if I push through a bout of procrastination I have a hard time shutting off at the end of the night and relaxing! haha

I destroy procrastination with one simple trick, I just start on something. It really doesn't matter what you start on either just as long as you are able to cross something off your to do list.

Make a list of what you need to do, find the easiest thing on the list and do it. It's amazing how you get into the flow of getting things done once you start on something easy.

Or at least that what works for me....results may vary

I use this method when cleaning. I always clean my sink first in the kitchen because it's easily accomplished and gets the blood going, you know?

Expect your work to be hard and tedious. Too many lifestyle bloggers making IM look easy. They all had to get started. Getting started is sometimes painful. That's just the way it is. No secret formula.

You got an absolute desirable advice! Yes, being a procrastinating can create a
deep hole where you will be trapped with regrets after knowing that you missed
      important "Today's assignments."

Self discipline is the first foundation and motivating ourselves to make our "TODAY" better than "YESTERDAY" is the best mindset.

I think this is what stops people doing internet marketing and many other things in life. I think one factor is that they really don't want it enough at that particular moment in time. If they did, they would act upon it. I think setting small goals for the week is a good way to beat it too.

Many a times I have faced procrastinating situation. Any stressful situation makes me feel so. Sometimes it so happens I fail to perform what I have committed to someone. In those situation I try to reduce my stress level, I usually go for meditation and that helps me a lot to bring back my lost vitality.

This has always been one of my biggest obtacles and I've been in IM for 4 years or so (successful for almost 1 of those so far). I managed very well through school despite it but the "real world" was a kick in the butt for a procrastinator.

You don't procrastinate when it's something you are passionate about. Not something that you really care about and excites you.

There might be alot of money in certain niches but the key is to just list your interests and follow each one until you find a keeper.

Speaking of Jim Rohn - I just got introduced to his work. What an amazing man!
Can't wait to watch more of his videos.
Agreed - it's easy to procrastinate. Goes without saying though - the easy path isn't always the best one.

Somewhere I heard or read a lesson on procrastination and it made a lot of sense to me.

Have you ever been working on a project and really gotten into "the flow"? You know, that groove where time just flies by and you could have been working on something for hours and not even noticed?

Well, procrastination works the exact same way. It's simply a "groove" that you've gotten yourself into, where time flies by and you don't even notice. The problem with procrastination, is that that groove is more like a rut.

You break the procrastination cycle the exact same way that you get taken out of the flow when working on a project. You simply get up and allow yourself to get interrupted by something.

So if you find yourself procrastinating, just get up and do SOMETHING else. Suddenly, that groove or rut you were in will vanish.

  • Hi Jay,
My procrastination tends to show up in disguise! What I mean by that is I might find myself watching a very important documentary on TV, or I might discover it was far more important to check the newspaper ads for grocery items I might need, or it could be I felt I needed a breath of fresh air and wound up spending two hours plunking around the garden.

All in all when these 'necessary' diversions are added up it is easy for me to spend two hours working and six hours secretly procrastinating! Darn it.

But since I am aware of the issue in all its stealth magic, I have taken steps to dramatically curtail these hidden in plain sight stalls. It's amazing how just "knowimg what the problem is" goes a long long way towards fixing it. Good luck snapping the spellbinding sleep. I'm with you.

I think it’s not procrastination, your situation that is. It’s simply running away from failure. Although, it’s great that you were able to get past that.

I think procrastination has something to do with your habit and lifestyle. That said, you need to keep your senses alert, eat the right food and exercise. Also avoid bad habits like sleeping late or smoking. A healthy body and mind keeps you alive and progressive no matter what the challenges lies ahead.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Procrastination can become a lifestyle for anyone and it's fueled by bad habits like the ones you mentioned.
On the flip side, the right habits will help you move away from it, and from failure.
Which is why I'll stop posting on WF and get back to work!
      Have an awesome day,

I was going to post this a couple of times now, but have kept putting it off.

Overcoming procrastination in your online business is as easy as writing a daily to do list in the order of easiest to hardest. Start marking them off as you complete them and you will be amazed at how much you get done.

This works for me anyway. Nothing breeds accomplishment as much as accomplishment.

Procrastination is a habit, the habit of doing what you want short term at the expense of doing what you know needs to be done long term. Short term just 'feels' better
