Good Books and Resources On Internet Marketing

This may not be the proper thread but I'm looking for either a list or thread that discusses good books and resources to read up on internet marketing - how to get started from keyword research, how to monetize, the different types of monetization models, to figuring out the proper niche.

If you know of which threads are good and any recommendations, let's hear it!

      Take this advice:

Don't read on techniques, read on strategies. The less you know about techniques the more successful "business owner/manager" you will be.

The more you read about techniques, the more "technician" you'll be.

Know strategies, what needs to get done, and then get other people to do the techniques for you, save time, frustration, and become super productive.

      How to learn strategies?

Read "rework", you can find it on amazon.
Go to JimmyBrown.com and join one of his business classes. He has beginner and advanced courses.

      Hope that helps.

One more thing: avoid information overload. Pick one or 2 good experts and follow them. IM industry are filled with sharp & smart marketers, they will make you think you need more information all the time (or they'll go out of business), so make sure you don't overwhelm your mind.

It's better to read 1 book 10 times, rather than reading 10 different books on the subject.

information overload is a killer in IM industry, one has to be focused and concentrate on one project at a time to start with. People tend to start more than one projects and never finish them..

Don't read to much it will only confuse you..

Just go to the WSO section of this forum and check out a recent top selling WSO.

    Read/watch, study and implement.

Don't buy anything else until you achieved the results as mentioned in the course.

    Cheers,

    Gary

I agree with the above. I'm looking for skills and foundation, not techniques. I am looking to put the work in and get the solid foundation needed. My big thing is doing keyword research and figuring out keyword topics to write on.

For example, fitness. That is such a broad keyword that I'm wondering if there's a way to know other related keywords to write about related to "fitness."

I believe google keyword tool is pretty good and I'm wondering if there are any guides that can assist with this.

Remember: thousands of other people are reading the material that is posted online or published. There are very few helpful books because a method that works one day, doesn't work the next. They don't stay profitable for long enough for somebody to write an entire book about it. If you never truly mastered one niche, you won't be able to keep up with the changes--there are no shortcuts. You have to go out there and do things instead of just reading about them.

Everyone on this thread have some good thoughts on the subject and all I have to add to this discussion is to try and focus on micro niche in your specific niche area and learn as much about it ad possible. When you have mastered these strategies in your specific micro niche then you can expand this way you can remain focused. The reason for this is to avoid information overload so you and actually absord what you read and you could quickly implement the strategies that you learn. You can get tons of IM ebooks on line for free and at sharing sites, all you have to do is do a Google search for "free IM ebooks".

I recommend that all humans interested in Internet marketing read or listen to the book Platform. Michael Hyatt wrote it, I think.
