Do you believe in INNER happiness or joy?

As the thread title says, do you believe in the concept of inner happiness or joy?

Is there really some joy or happiness hidden inside the mind which is not connected to anything but simply IS THERE?

I feel we as humans have become habitual to materialistic affluence and abundance and we often connect our happiness to something outside of our control.

You've probably heard one of these:
I would be happy as soon as I buy that car...
I would be happy as soon as I buy that house...
I would be happy as soon as I finish that...
I would be happy as soon as I can get a girlfriend...
I would be happy as soon as ____________

And the list could go on but you get the idea. I wonder if what Thomas Jefferson said is true: it's all just a pursuit of happiness which try to gain from various things and people around us.

But doesn't that convey some kind of negative worldview where there's no REAL happiness? No inner joy, so to speak?

We find happiness in doing so many things but is it really joy or just moments of "feeling good".

What do you folks think?

Inner happiness is what you feel from within yourself irrespective of your outward circumstances. It is, in fact, far more important to develop inner happiness than to have happiness that is dependent on having perfect outward circumstances: it is really a mindset that you can learn to develop!

happy can mean different in different person for some person if they can eat three times a day is more than enough, for some people if they can't buy a house, they can't happy.
To be happy or not, we choose it..

I think inner happiness or joy is like being content of what you have in life despite the difficult situations you encountered and will be encountering.

I believe that you neeed to be happy on the insdie before you can be successful. If you are happy with your self you feel more confident and are willing and able to acheive so much more.

An example: The other day I launched a new page giving away some free books (link in the signature if you are interested). Now I knew that I shold have undertaken a whole marketing campaign to promote the page.

Instead I did the very minimum. Why? Because I was feeling very happy about the product and what I had acheived. I just relaxed and for a week did very little but enjoy life. In fact I slept in to 7:30 some days, not the usual 6 am.

The results? People went and got the books. It wasn't a massive rush but I gain more people signing up from doing very little and being happy, compared with doing a lot and stressing.

So be happy, have faith that the things will work out. You will feel so much better. I at this moment in time am very happy.

Inner joy is a state of being. Feel happy and confident about yourself and the rest should follow....

There are too many people out there wanting to put you down when you don't think you can go any lower. Having strong self esteem and happiness helps you to "climb the mountain" and is certainly easier to attain than many believe....

Destroy your negative thoughts and be confident about yourself.....Happiness will follow.

    Happiness is a choice.

World class speaker and best selling author Dr Denis Waitley explains it perfectly.
