I want REAL freedom

the time comes when we chose what success really means to us and follow that .

rather than following the path of success that has been marketed to us so we supposedly prove to people we are a success .

Im provides many way to make money to support a real nice lifestyle ..that suits us ..and makes us happy .

why get rich if you always have the ability to make the money you need to make to live the way you want to live .

i have a very simple idea of personal success at this point .
the first 35 years of my life has shown ample proof that the last thing i would do was write books. also i was never really attractive i was also chubby and not to strong . and i was shy.

the last year i have been playing with the idea of writing but with a lot of help from someone else.

the last few months quite a lot has changed..i have this sudden confidence in my presence and i am suddenly flirting with pretty girls . I am also going through a weird but awesome physical development where my muscles are bulking up on their own.

mentally i have also gotten much more clear and much of what i have learned in the last 15 years trying to get my head right ..is working as a huge pool of ideas for some great story lines .

so now i want to build an income that will get me to my tropical beach to live on .giving me plenty of time to write and get me a cute girl with better writing skills to make my work better .

then once The writing develops travel the world to learn interesting stuff that can be put in stories .

Same boat, big house, pool, etc. And it is not so much the cost, but ALWAYS the maintenance (something to fix, repair, update, etc etc).

Good for you for making the move... but no way my wife is going for it! lol

Awesome Justin. Love minimalism. Simplification is where it's at. Love the idea of traveling/living in an RV. That sounds like freedom to me. It'll probably get to a point where you'll want to settle down again, but you'll be free to travel 'til you feel like settling again, which is perfect.

We are downsizing too. We'll be selling our current home next year and building a much smaller, simpler home that will serve as a home base for all our crap. Then we plan to travel more (renting apartments for a month or two a few times a year in different places) and have less home upkeep/investment to worry about.

We talked with the landlord and put in our 60 day notice on the house.

It's another BIG move.

The RV we're going after initially is something not too large and I'm hoping we can pay cash for it. Here are some pics..









I'll also have to get a truck to tow the RV but that's not anything I'm worried about.

The only thing I'm worried about is a 24/7 internet connection for when I need it.

That's why we're going to get Millenicom and likely get 2 plans along with a data plan on an iPhone.

As per serious weather, I have money set aside for extreme emergencies like weather. I'm also comfortable and have the ability to travel to different cities/states if it's a must.

I live in a hurricane & tornado rich area and even when living in the apartment we sometimes travel to cities 6 hours away to stay safe. Another great thing about working online is that I have the ability to still work even when not at home. And when we do travel usually I make sure to set it up so that I have a coaching session, consult, or web build that can cover the costs of our stay in a hotel.

Thanks so much everyone for all of the kind words, it's definitely a big move and we'll have to see how we like it, but I'd rather live life given the option (which I have) rather than stay in one place.

We used to carry Denali and I am familiar with that floor plan. Though I can't remember the model. I believe it was 31RG or something like that.

If you have any questions on pricing and if it is nationally competitive let me know. I handle the internet marketing now but for years I ran the internet sales department. I've even sold campers to people in Europe and Australia (though to use in North America).

3/4 Ton should work great. I would get the diesel though. You will want it when you go into steep grades like mountains.

The Denali line was a bit heavy I am guessing that is dry around 8500 lbs, maybe 9000. So down the road with everything I would say you should be under 11,000. You could get the full ton truck (350, 3500) but I don't think you will need it. Though if later you might upgrade to a fifth wheel (toy hauler if you do) the full ton would be better.

One thing to remember on the Denali line is they had a high MSRP compared to cost. Example: Floor plan to floor plan the Denali cost the same as a Jayco Eagle but it had an MSRP $10k higher. So be careful they don't use the original MSRP to up the price. I think we would sell a Denali like that for the high teens/low twenties based on similar ones we have sold lately.

Also make sure to check for previous leaks and water damage. The brand was built solid but without proper maintenance it could still happen.

And get an equal-i-zer brand 4 point hitch. Best hitch for the money IMO.

I remember you moving into that house and showing pics. RV looks sweat! I learned in the past that you can't live above your means when I had to downgrade my home because my business went downhill. So we are living in a smaller home and living happy as ever

We used to have an RV and would go on camping trips all the time. We didn't have the money to afford huge vacations, but we didn't need it! It's a shame a tree limb fell through the roof a couple of years ago during a hurricane (the joys of living in Florida). It ended up totaling it out and the RV was gone, but all those great memories still remain. Some of the best memories of my childhood were from those RV trips!

I am a little jealous you'll be "camping out" everyday. Just watch out for tree limbs!

you at one time dreamed of moving in?

In pursuing freedom, we often trap ourselves in
material possessions.

We're raised to believe the American Dream is
bigger and better stuff.

And the more expensive the stuff...the better the
American Dream.

Money can be good.

It can buy you shelter, food and water. The basic
needs for human beings.

Few people realize those 3 needs alone is enough
to make us happy. We can survive and live good
lives when we have water, food and shelter.

Problem is...most of us westerners take those needs
for granted and think the key to happiness is some
-thing *more* than our most basic needs.

I enjoy beauty, luxury and opulence as much as
the next...but happiness should not rely on it.

I appreciate those luxuries...but I'm fine without it.

There called luxuries for a reason. To enjoy a way
of life above and beyond what we need to be
happy.

I took the path you took a few months back. So
obsessed was I about making more more more...

...and everytime I made more, I was MORE unhappy.

How could this possibly be?

It was because my life revolved around money
and making lots of it...at the exclusion of family,
friends, dating and currently playing my guitar.

The 2 most expensive things I have is my car and
my $150 guitar. I own nothing else. And I'm living
the life I was scared of living because I thought I
needed *more*.

Funny. Now I'm living my nightmare...and it's a
dream. No burdens. No payments on anything.
Little debt. No maintenance outside my car...

And what I thought was my dream...became my
worst nightmare.

What you've experienced can not be taught.

You can't tell anyone that their pursuit for material
gain will not make them happier.

It's a lesson many of us learn quickly...at some time
in the future if we're alive...or on our death beds.

Few people have the perspective you have after
only a year or so living the lifestyle most people
would trade places for.

This thread is a wake up call for those who pursuit
what you once had.

Not only are you giving it all up for peace of mind
...I'd reckon to say you're going to live on less than
those who *think* there living such terrible lifestyles.

It's been weeks since I've last responded to a thread.

And it will continue to be that way.

There's nothing productive that can come out of
back and forth chit chat on this forum outside of
making money with it...but this is one of those rare
threads that's worth responding for.

I'd like to hear others perspective on this.

I'm new around here but I think its awesome what your doing! You can see the world which is what so many people dream of doing. The only downfall of camping/living in a RV is rain - it sucks! Gotta get satelite to haha.

About a year ago, one of my old co-workers quit to travel around the country in an RV for 2 years while she made residual income renting out her house.

It's great that you made the revelation that you don't need so many material possessions. Even though I'm making more money online than I ever did working, I'm still living pretty frugal. I just had a pretty big car repair come out of nowhere and I'm extremely glad I saved the money!

I bought an RV with the wife about 7 years ago now and did nothing but travel for about 3 years. I then sold the RV and we've house-sat for the past year with no other jobs or income at all.

Seriously!! I'm ready to purchase a BIG van that will pull what you've posted...

You can then take what you want in the van and tour a lot better then just having a truck to drive around... seriously, don't get stuck with just a truck and be stuck having to travel back & forth to the camper every night.

Just some thoughts from someone who has done some serious traveling.

I also run my business from anywhere in the USA... VM usb stick Broadband2Go does it for me at $55 per month.

You just about summed it up for me. I can't think of creating a better adventure which smacks of freedom and scariness at the same time. Can that be possible?

I guess even "real freedom" comes with its challenges. But, you know, those are the kind of challenges that make the whole transition all the more exciting and adventurous and freeing.
