Books/Resources for when your mind goes negative

Hi all,

I am at the stage in my IM career where I have started to invest a decent amount of money, but now get anxious all the time and start doubting if this is going to work out and be profitable in the end.

I know I am my own worst enemy when it comes to this mindset, but still...this feeling can be very hard to shake sometimes. Can anyone reccomend some good resources that I can go to...whether it be a book, website, idea etc that I can use for inspiration?

I know alot of you successful warriors on here must of had some days in the beginning when you really questioned if you were going to succeed. How did you manage to get over it?

Matt

There might be a lot of good audiobooks at your local library. I am planning to soon borrow the audio-book The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill. There are many other books like it.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is turn off your computer and go for a walk, go to the movies or do something completely different so you can refresh yourself.

Yes, there are loads of great books to motivate you as well IF that's what you are after.
I personally like the series called Don't Sweat The Small Stuff.... by Richard Carlson.
But there are plenty of others too.

Another great one by Napoleon Hill is Think and Grow Rich, and a great one by Dale carnegie is how to stop worrying and start living. Someone posted that one on youtube, it's great.
That one also helped out a lot.

You know i find that listening to the audio book while taking down notes helps out tremendously rather than passively reading something,

something that also helps to lose anxiety is this: Know it's gonna work because the only way it's not going to work is if you get anxious about it and veer off your path. Get passionate about your product knowing full well it's going to work.

it's like when Michael jordan got cut from his basketball team in high school, that didn't let him stop his dream.

something from how to stop worrying: Analyze your fear, write down the reasons why you are anxious, and ask yourself if it is logical. this really helps!

  • Some time the truth of the matter is you wind up going through all that anxiety and there isn't much that can be done about it. You are right to pursue avenues of escape and even inspiration but sometimes the best that can be done is to submit to being a witness to the suffering.

I believe a lack of resistance to the anxiety by allowing it to influence you emotionally will flower and break the grip of its effectiveness allowing you to be a great deal less anxious.

Good luck being on the edge of success!
