For you to be successful, a positive mental attitude is indispensable. Simply focus on the solution, the future and look at the good side; then you can be as positive as you want to be. If you mobilize your mind to control the situation, you will be surprised how positive and cheerful you will be most of the time.

        I read or listen to something positive everyday. Also, I had a couple of "friends" in my life who always said very negatives things to me . . . so, they are on the back burner. Sounds kind of mean, but I feel so much better without the downer drama. I am surrounding myself with positive people!

    i think some people just lazy to start it. i mean they want to be positive or they think that they already being positive but they're get used to be the opposite. some people dont really know that they're behavior is bad for them or for the society. how about that?

    I have been trying this more and more recently and I must admit it definitely does help. I find myself just powering through things and assuming that the end result is going to be what I want instead of thinking negatively about how it might not work etc.

    Everyone is not born with a mind that is positive when things get hard and challenging. That is why reading is a daily routine that everyone must do if they want to succeed.

    This small shift in my thinking greatly improved my success when tackling projects..

    It's much better to tackle something knowing and believing that you will succeed instead of what we usually do "what if this does not work" mindset..

    I definitely agree about staying positive. Staying focused on the outcome you desire rather than what you don't desire! In the end, you've still gotta do what you've gotta do, but it makes things feel less challenging and instead you're more motivated. And I really think when you're coming from a place of motivation that you'll do better work.

    I also agree, that being optimistic and having the positive attitude makes you calm and chill to stay focused on the goal and not get overwhelmed. The right and positive attitude to respond in a clear and good way.

      Just listening to positive mental affirmations is not the sure way to success.

      When you open a lock up, you need to have all the number right. If you get one wrong, you are still not going to be able to open your lock no matter how positive you are.

      You have got to have a plan in place and then take action. Then when that plan does not work too well for you, change it with another.

      Most people think that just because one plan does not work too well, that they will never succeed. That is not true at all. You need to have a plan that will work best for you. Change things around and see what does work for you.

    Part of staying positive is having a VERY CLEAR end goal in mind. You should be able to see, smell, feel, and touch whatever that end goal is.

    Then everything you do should be seen through the lens of getting you closer to that end goal.

    A success gets you closer so you should feel positive about that

    Same as a failure...it's ultimately getting you closer to your goal as well...so you should feel positive about that as well.

    Being positive is a state of mind that every single one of us have some control over. It's up to us to understand our state and then alter it in a way that benefits of (of course some people have more control than others...but then again, life isn't always fair as my pops told me growing up!)

      Positive thinking is very good but on the contrary our subconscious mind can sabotage our results from it.

      I posted this quote of mine in a different thread but I'll also post it here as it pertains to the topic.

      "Optimism won't do you any good if you don't have a positive self-image"

      So in order to benefit from the results of positive thinking we need to improve our self-image first. Our self-image should be the foundation and source of our positive thinking.

      Work on: Do I deserve this? Am I worth it? How am I unique from other people? What are the things I really like about myself? What are the things I am really grateful for?

      I'm mentioning this because this is something that most people forget.

    Like a plant, you must water your mind with positivity, DAILY, in order for it to grow.

    Keep a positive mindset.

    Surround yourself with positive people. Eliminate the negative. See the good in everything. Be grateful for your health, wealth, and happiness.

    Getting rid of the negative people is key. As much as I love my parents, my father has always "played it safe." To him, the idea of failure is so painful, that he has never tried to build a business although he has had many opportunities. He had an ATM a few years back, but at the first sign of competition he sold it and never looked back.

    When i was talking to him about starting a local web design/marketing company, he immediately reacted with negative comments about how "thats not a good business" or "be careful you don't lose all your money." My wife, on the other hand, has been nothing but supportive of my dreams, and I must say it really does make a difference. When I get unsure of myself I ask her what she thinks and she always re-lights the fire under my bottom to get it done and be successful!

    It may be hard, but getting rid of the negativity in your life is such an important step. Simply waking up and having a positive attitude the last month has helped my self-esteem tremendously and has had a positive effect on almost every other aspect of my life.

    You remain positive by doing positive things (taking action) and since doing nothing is easier than doing something no wonder why there are more people struggling to stay positive.

    Here's my theory...

    If taking action can be the source of the problem then all you need to focus on, is finding what your big WHY is.

    That'll lead to take action without making such a huge effort, make things happen and in the end, be positive.

    Now when you have a natural positive mindset, you are always taking action and that's when the circle closes and you no longer struggle with any of this.

    Disclaimer: I know nothing about psychology, this is just my point of view.

    Actually doing something contributes a lot towards positive attitude. If you do nothing, a negative attitude will gradually build up in you that says "Since I haven't been able to do something till now, I will never be able to".

    Stop thinking and start doing.
