Desire versus compulsion.

I read this in felix dennis new book.

People say they want to be rich, the think i want to buy that hot car and then the bus comes by and they get into it and go straight back to work. It becomes a dangerous addiction that kills their complete confidence of ever achieving anything.

There is a huge difference b2n desire and compulsion.
people who desire never get anything done, but people who are compulsive dont give in.
So my question is what are you doing to make sure you are a compulsive human being.

I love that bus idea.. its fantastic.

So you see a bus coming, and you get in right there that kills your dream and any chance you had to get started dies. Compulsive people turn up everyday no matter what. They know that theres a price to pay and they still do it.
Compulsive people get sued everyday think copeac and all the other networks that made millions off spamming myspace.
Those networks right now are at the top of the game. What about the other networks that didnt do that.. well they are ****ed. No money.
Back to being compulsive, compulsive people learn programming even though its tough and the other people who just sit there dont get shit.

Its something thats been bothering me for a while. WHy - because its true.

Compulsive people turn up no matter what - they have on ****ing excuses - they are stubborn because in the long run getting addicted to a cheque is suicide.

they only switch it off once they have 50 million dollars sitting in their bank accounts.

actually according to the book, you switch it off once you have got talented people working for you.
You leave them alone - and you can go to the beach and have fun.

Desire and wishing fall in the same category. Its just that hollywood crap that we are fed that trys to seperate the 2.
Compulsion on the other hand... you show up no matter what. Rain, sun, tornado.. no matter what the consequences.
    Sacrifice becomes your middle name.

I've learned to do some hard things in my life because
I had a compulsion to get proficient - not an obsession,
but far, fart more than a casual interest.

I haven't read the book yet but I get what you mean -
because in my business I deal with prospects who "want"
to have a home business and create a new life for
themselves, but most will let very small (in the greater
scheme of things) obstacles like raising a couple grand
in capital stop them from pursuing their dreams with
    any meaningful tenacity.

"meaningful tenacity" or "meaningful commitment" -
whatever the term - it has to be MORE than the average
guy because if you do what the average guy does you
get the result the average guy gets...

    And who wants that?

Its always easier said than done.
I heard in one of david allens mp3s, he said that there is something called "the thing". The thing that you do, let me explain.
You werent born driving - you learned it.
You werent born brushing your teeth - you learned it.
You werent born learning to type - you learned it.
Its a thing a thing that we do.
Making money is a thing - a thing that you must learn how to do .
You must have a huuge budget to get started in aff marketing or a highly targeted campain with little to no competition.

Affiliate marketing is a thing that we must learn to do like driving a car. Unfortunately there is a huge barrier to it.
How badly do you want it.
