Eliminate Information Overload

I just love to learn! I've studied a lot of different things in my life, sometimes quite difficult subjects. And yet I've never been paralyzed by too much information...

Internet Marketing is definitely a challenge and I had to refine my approach. There is so much to digest! And since IM deals with the satisfaction of human needs there is an awful amount of noise to filter through.

That's no excuse for "Information Overload". What is this anyway? Who is forcing all that data down your throat?

This is how I see things:
Your first contact with a new subject will be with concepts. Store them carefully, they are knowledge. This part is crucial. If you can't recall what you've learned, you'll have to learn it again! As you accumulate enough concepts you will begin to link them together naturally, this is understanding. And with understanding knowledge is secured.

Information overload = bad learning habits.
When you're full, stop stuffing yourself.

I use Evernote and combine it with mind-mapping. Each node in the map is a tag in Evernote. This way recall is very easy and linking nodes in the map really helps linking concepts in my mind. Seeing the map also help me create learning goals to focus my efforts in certain areas. And most importantly, I don't just know I'm moving forward, I can literally see my progress and that is a very, very good feeling

I'm always trying to improve my learning skills, I would love to hear about how you deal with this.
