I recently wrote a book called Falling in Love with Meditation, I wrote the book because so many people told me they tried meditation and given up.

Meditation taught me how to respond to life instead of reacting to it.

I was always in conflict with someone, now I have the ability to chose my response to people and situations as they arise.

Do you meditate ?

I have been trying to meditate daily now for a while because I've heard great things about it, I think it has helped me become more relaxed, although that could also be due to the stuff I've been reading but I need to do more of it to get the full benefits because I only meditate 20 minutes a day.

The absolute BEST meditation I've EVER tried is called the "Feeling Exercise," as described in the book, "You Can Have It All," by Arnold Patent.

Not "meditation" per se, but very, very powerful.

It basically teaches you to "feel" your feelings, without any labels or attachments, and then feel appreciation for your feelings, and then feel appreciation for yourself feeling the feeling and feeling the appreciation in the feeling.

20 mins a day is great. I do about the in the morning and throughout the day I do little mini meditations, very similar to what George describes. Meditation does help me relax and it gives me a real ability to respond to life instead of reacting to it.

If you truly want to receive the absolute best results from your meditation, the place to go is the Centerpointe Research Institute (non-affiliate link). Centerpointe has been around since the mid-80s, and were in fact the pioneers of binaural beat technology (playing a different frequency in each ear, the brain attunes to the difference in the frequencies; i.e. 440 hz in the right ear and 448 in the left ear, the mind attunes to 8 hz [cycle/second] which is the alpha brainwave state, often associated with accelerated learning and {for athletes} being 'in the zone').

Centerpointe has since developed that technology even further to what it calls Holosync. This meditation is extremely powerful and will, as CRI claims, allow you to reach deeper levels of meditation than a Zen monk. This is definitely worth checking out and investing in.

Personally, I am a 15 year traumatic brain injury survivor, and with meditation from Centerpointe, my short-term memory has improved by leaps and bounds. This is truly life changing.

They recommend that you meditate for 30 minutes (i.e. only track 1) for two weeks and then listen to both tracks after that (1 hour). I hope that this helps!

      God bless!

I meditate every night using brain wave entrainment audio technology. I focus on the ultimate objective, as well as the next actions that I will accomplish the next day.

To this I will say a few things:

          (1) They have a payment plan, so don't freak out.

          (2) As with most things, you get what you pay for. However with this you will get so much more than you pay for. This program will really improve every single aspect of your life. Because of this program, I was able to write a 20,000+ word book (Part 1 at least) based on a few PLR reports and a little bit of research.

When I was listening to the Theta track (Theta is for creativity/intuition, this CD comes included with your purchase as well as a book and another CD), I had access to knowledge that I wouldn't have remembered otherwise (I don't believe). It was almost as if I had taken some of that drug from 'Limitless' and I had access to every single piece of information that I had ever learned! It is truly mind-blowing the improvements that you will see in your life, and your overall happiness/quality of your relationships.

            • I don't meditate. I used to. Gave it up in favor of working to maintain awareness during waking hours. (Talk about a tough task) When I need rest, I rest, but I no longer sit and watch my thoughts or my breath.

Sounds like you had a major breakthrough with your response over react epiphany!

All the best to you and your practice.

Holosync is very powerful if you can stick with it. I went past level 0, the first investment of $179, to level 1 and it was a completely different experience.

I've been using level 1 for about 5 months now and I am a lot calmer, more focused, and generally speaking doing a lot better in my business.

I honestly go a little further than what the instructions say, because it advises you to meditate for no more than 90 minutes in a single session. I have done 3 hours straight and it was an amazing experience. Time wasn't a factor in this case because it simply flew by.

I will admit that I was hyper skeptical of it before I jumped on it. I had been researching Centerpointe for the past 3 years trying to decide if it was worth it or not. It makes me excited to know I'm only on level 1 out of 12. That may seem like a lot to some, perhaps like they're gouging you for all you got, but seeing how I have evolved over the past few months I can only foresee even greater results for me.

Previous to trying it I could have easily said they could kiss my a$$ for $200 meditation lol

Only AFTER I tried it and really stuck with it can i say that it was one of the best investments I've ever made.

    Exactly this.

People quit, because they do not realize the artificiality of life. They find it boring and time-wasting, because they have not reached an essential state of understanding. You might start to develop very unique experiences when you meditate - such as higher insights, nearly even psychic abilities (I'm a really scientific guy, and didn't use to believe in it)...

When done properly, it can be as restful as a nap!

I do meditation every single day without fail, for over 10 years already. Like they say - the frequency counts more than the intensity of the meditation.

I've heard very good things about Transcendental Meditation - but personally I do Mindfulness Meditation.

I try to every day, don't always get time. I read a quote once that said "If you're too busy to meditate you need to do it more than anyone else"

I absolutely love it. I use a website called "headspace" - it's very good and they include it on Virgin Atlantic flights as part of the in flight entertainment for nervous flyers. The first section of the program is free but I've paid up for the rest of the year

I'll echo this. I meditate and recommend everyone to reserve some quiet time in their busy days just for medidation. Like most people, I too was impatient and couldn't get into it at first but since I've had some incredible experiences from it.

And I'll echo that I often take 5 minutes away from the computer screen to lie down, relax and close my eyes - I think it's vital if your day is spent in front of a computer working

Meditation is a great way to increase your concentration and focus. However I haven't been able to do it so far. What I do is to be more mindful, I think it's also a mild way to meditate.

For example I try to walk mindfully, on focus on the steps, eat mindfully, focusing on the flavors and sensations. And I have found that my concentrating power is getting better also.

I'm not sure if it's called meditation, really.

What I do is spend sometime to be with just myself.

To think things over and think about how I react to life.

I just learned that we need not react to life but to respond to it.

    Thanks for sharing..

Meditation has allowed me to relax and see the world differently. I used to complain and moan about the world and the people all the time. Through meditation I learned to see things differently. Made me realize everyone is different and it's useless trying to change them or convert them to your way of thinking.
Lets just say I'm more peaceful now

my environment is never noise free and i am really bad at not thinking for any length of time .

what i have learned is to be aware of the thoughts flowing through my head ..and to dump out really negative thought patterns when i am not in the mood to be angry lol.

when i want to meditate or mimic a state of meditation i fry up some onion mushroom and garlic.. shredd some greens ..cut up a good tomato or two//ad whatever spices then make up my own dressing ..and eat the tasty salad ..

when it hit my stomach 20 minutes later i will sit in bliss and feel the energy of the food mix with my body ..for as long as i can ..

when i cook i can normally get into a bliss state when the food hit my belly if it food i should be eating..

it only work with stuff i prepare though..as i feel i add extra energy to the food ..which is why i am drawn to wanting to grow much of my own food . as there is not much energy in the food you buy from stores ..

there is no better meditation then being able to sit relax..eat tasty food that is good for you ..and savor every bite ..the savor the feeling as it hits your stomach and your body gets a kick of energy /bliss

I do. I want to try mantra meditation but what I do varies. I do spiritual mediation, focused meditation and mindfulness meditation.

Focused meditation is great because you can focus on a sound, object, or thought and the important thing is to remember to focus on one of these things and stay committed to that one thought or object.

I find relaxation music comes in handy. Even though you're essentially using your mind, you'll be amazed at how rejuvenated you feel afterwards.

Spiritual meditation is more like communicating with God or prayer.

Mindfulness meditation is probably the most popular one. It is like a flow type kind of meditation where you dont really focus on one thing but just are aware of all the sounds and activities that happen around you.

So the trick is to become aware but not too focused.
