Be careful what you wish for.

Be careful what you wish for.

I've heard this statement a number of times. And each time it causes me to question the goals that I have set and the direction I am travelling. Maybe questioning my goals is not such a bad thing. But it does lead me to the question. How do you know you are moving in the right direction. How do you know you are "wishing" for the right things.

Maybe the real truth is that for the most part it doesn't really matter.

We can't really ever determine if something is going to be the right decision in the whole scheme of things.

For the most part, all that matters is how you deal with what happens.

What do you think?

It's hard to know whats good or bad in the short term because we never know where life will take us. But I think its important to have some direction don't you?

    Hey Kev,

I used to be in the exact same boat, but I almost always decided that I wasnt going in the right direction until after I expended great amounts of energy in trying to achieve something that I thought I once wanted to achieve. This leaves for a huge amount of mental and physical fatigue and even some depression, in fact, a lot in my case.

Moving forward, I now do a mental mind map and visualize all possible out comes of whatever my new venture is. I then go by the amount of good versus bad outcomes. Obviously not saying I can read the future or anything but most likely you can apply multiple logical alternatives to your venture and just "think" about what could happen.

I also spend some time not only thinking but feeling. This is slightly harder to do as it requires really tuning in to your inner self , but once your locked in you should be able to start noticing different endorphin releases or just overall emotion improvements. If your thoughts make you feel happy/uplifted/ at ease then more than likely you are going to come out ok. If your thoughts make you feel anxious/fearful or uneasy then rethinking your game plan might be a good idea.

Dealing with what happens is for sure life, but remember you can make it so you have choice in what your having to deal with.

    Hope this makes sense,

    R.S

we don't really want money .. we want the things money can get us ..

the question with goals is why do we want this goal .. what we will get from is.. and can we get the same feeling from something else ..

in my past i have failed at setting and achieving goals ..is that i would set goals that where to compensate for what i never had..but had no real value to what i really wanted .

so now my goal are to move to a tropical environment where i can live on a good sized piece of land close to the ocean .and a smallish bamboo house ..

    why ,

because i am much healthier and energetic when i am warm or even hot than when i am cold and i live where it is cold 8 months out of the year .

walking swimming and kayaking are the best forms of movement for me .

I want to build a couple greenhouses to grow top quality food to eat all year round ..and i do not need a big house .

these would provide the ideal environment for me .

Know what is your sole motive in life. And to do that, you need to understand yourself a little more. I don't think anyone can do that for you, it usually comes with time and constant self-reflection.
