the movie that made me look at things differently

was the Matrix. holy crap, after watching that i was like . I started looking at the world in a different light, it's so philosophical that's why the movie kicks ass.

but i guess hollywood didn't get why it did so well, maybe they thought it was the action in it and that's why we got so many action oriented movies out there.

what do you think about the matrix and do you have any other great movies like that that made you question your existence and the way we do things?

Not so much that it changed how I look at life, but, the social network really bummed me out for some reason lol
I left the movies feeling so inferior, so insignificant that I knew I just had to change the way my life was going.

Its fair to say I made a drastic change and now Im well on my way to success.

Loved the first Matrix but they seemed to go downhill from there!

It's funny and disturbing but one of the movies that had a pretty big impact on me was American Gangster. Freaking great movie. I loved how they showed and portrayed Frank Lucas as Business Man. He took his time and was patient and built an empire, granted it dealt with drugs.

I looked at the things he did as if it were just a normal business. He had a product, made sure it was the best, then sold it for less than his competitors. Then completely took over. There was a lot of great business tips in it.

It's essentially based off Descartes' thought. I personally loved it, because there were some surprisingly powerful spiritual principles that were sprinkled all over the movie.

it really depends on the thought is provokes .

mant hits in hollywood are based off new ways we are willing to look at the reality of the world around us.

we live in world or a reality that is a bit more complex than the matrix ..but some evil force didn't come in enslave humanity ..to feed off us and oppress us ..humanity basically created the matrix of control around us .

because the mass of humanity does not want to be unplugged from this system .. they tend to destroy teacher and anyone else who presents a threat ...

so if you realize you are in a matrix.. and there is no real point in fighting the system...you then figure out why you are in this system . and what you can do to have a much better time of it .

in general the world we believe we live in was planned and built to be destroyed in a series of wars and catasropies in the last 20 years ..that is why nothing works anymore ..and we are as a human race are redesigning the matrix that surrounds us .

i have been gaining access to knowhow and experiences from other lifetime going back ..we way back ..and right now feel this is the most important one yet ..

but i have only been able to access the information sense my mindset changed .and i was not going to use the information to be disempowered ..

that's one of the great quotes of the movie, another is when trinity tells neo at the bar:
"And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo...."

so true, if we don't question, we don't get answers, if we don't get answers, we never get out of the holes that we dig for ourselves. the movie is so deep

but yeah matrix 2 and three went down from there,

hopefully they'll do a matrix prequel and we find out how Morpheus found out about the matrix and how he built that big ass spaceship.

    art,

just saw that what if money didn't matter video, really interesting.

one thing that stood out was why do things you don't want to do and teach your children the same thing, making a living, hating life.

it's really tough to do if money was not involved because none of us would be trying to make a living online then would we??? maybe we would, i don't know.

that's a good question to ponder though, what would i do if money wasn't involved??

    • Yes the Matrix did cause me to question the reality of existence. That is the subject of one of thoughts deepest wells of the realm.

Another movie staring Peter Sellers is "Being There". I recommend it for how it portraits the assuming and whimsical nature of Life.

being there was hilarious! the gardener is a very simple man but everyone thinks he's do deep!

ain't that the truth, maybe we're overthinking it, maybe all it takes is to be as simple as him.....

i'd say rocky balboa was one of the best rockys, let alone of the best sports movies of all time.

no one expects rocky to be such a wise figure, we were all thinking he's just a dumb boxer, but that speech to his son was one of the best hollywood moments of all time.

      good pick curly sue!

The Matrix blew my mind. "Have you ever had a dream Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world, and the real world?"

My favorite is Groundhog Day. He lived the same day over and over until he learned the lessons he was meant to. Another one I like is Click. What's a really successful life anyway?

you know another movie that really made me take a cold hard look at my life was actually a kid's movie, Kung Fu Panda 2.

that movie deals with something that we all go through and they make it into a kids' story, it's awesome.

Po (the fat Panda) can't fight because he does not have inner peace, so i started asking myself, what is inner peace and why don't i have it?

so i started researching this mysterious inner peace and why it's so fleeting.

it's awesome how we learn more from movies than from school!

i did see inception, i liked it alot and got some good life lessons from it like all these people try to live in a dream, but it's not real, so they keep numbing themselves to go to sleep, hey that's just like real life!

many of us do pot and beer to numb out so we don't feel reality, love the metaphors in movies

    Ferris Bueller's Day Off

It is just a fun movie. But most people miss the deeper message of what Cameron and Ferris each represent.

Cameron is the everyman. The slave to the system. He takes the crap that is piled on him and continues on. He is waiting for life to happen.

Ferris on the other hand takes risks. He puts it all on the line with barely a plan to live the life he wants to.

They are opposites and neither is the right path. Both left to their own would fail. It is only by working together by finding that middle ground that success is achieved.

Success does look a lot like hard work. But it also about taking risks. But what is the point of success if you never enjoy it? This movie teaches these lessons better than many books do.

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris

never would i have thought anyone would have said ferris buehler, but what you point out is pretty interesting.

is the principal a metaphor for following the rules? and the secretary is like steven colbert or jon stewart, yeah that is pretty interesting what you say.

  • The Matrix was definitely a life changer for me. The first time, I was just awed by the action and special effects. But when I watched it again later, I saw it in the light that you do.

When I discovered internet marketing (in particular SEO) before Google totally f'd that up. I started seeing a world of possibilities in terms of income and lifestyle that most 9-5'ers don't know exist, are afraid of or deny because they are embedded in the matrix. Think about how many times you've told people that you can make money online or do make a living online, they can't fathom the concept, dismiss it or think you're actually selling drugs.

When you try to pull people out their Matrix, they fight it. They say things like I'm not good with computers, I can't write, I'm too old, that has to be a scam, etc. They've already decided they'll stay in the Matrix. Fortunately internet marketers like us are NEO we can see the Matrix for the garbage it is and have the capability of breaking out of it or bending it so it works for us rather than the other way around.

So yes, the Matrix definitely helped me see life differently like it did for you! The Secret did as well. If you watch it with an open mind and then actually "take action" which folks seem to miss when watching the movie, you definitely see some great results!
