Which Emotions Trigger Your Highest Productivity?

7 replies
I have found over many years the emotion that drives me to my highest level of productivity is praise for my successes no matter how small. That twist of thanks with a strong sense of understanding the importance of what I have accomplished does it for me. And, I have been fortunate enough to be in the company of people who do just that.

For others the emotional drivers may vary dramatically since this is relative to each person. Have you ever looked at what emotions channel your accomplishments?

    For me is FEAR. The fear of setting goals and not achieving them. The fear of letting everybody around me down. The fear of losing and the fear of underachieving.

    As a result, I become more focused, more determined and willing to go to the edge.

    I agree with both of you'll. For me both appreciation and fear motivates but fear is much more stronger.

    When you have a deadline to hit and the hours are looming on, the adrenalin rush sort of gets to you and you fear you won't meet the deadline.

    Most of what I do is for my loved ones so it also means I will let down a lot of people who depend on me.

    Knowing that I've made a positive difference--no matter how small--in people's lives keeps me going. Almost as a sense of "duty."

    {Edit}

    Sorry, I forgot the emotion. I guess it would be "compassion."
