Are you saving money?

A huge part of self-improvement and success in general is the ability to save money.

So let me ask you this...

Are you constantly just spending money money money or are you actually trying to save your money?

If the first, what would be one thing you could stop spending money on, TODAY?

I cancelled my cell phone bill and cable at the end of 2012 and have saved far more than I thought I would.

For one, I saved $100/mo and took $13 of that to pay for Skype.

And one the second I saved $50/mo on cable and switched to Netflix for $8/mo.

Even better... I stopped making unnecessary calls, saving me time. And my favorite is that I wasn't stuck in front of the TV all day or subjected to a specific time to watch a certain show. If I wanted to wake up and watch LOST or How I Met Your Mother, I could. And then I could get back to work for the rest of the day.

So again... are you saving money? And if not what could you stop paying TODAY to help improve your life/productivity?

I'm a big believer in the "pay yourself first" concept, saving 10% of what I earn.

I do save but it doesn't mean I don't spend on myself and my loved ones. I think I am quite reasonable person when it comes to spending and saving.

It's all about balance. I have a relative that has taken saving to a whole new level it is already wrong. He saves all of his income and lives with his mother so he won't have to pay for anything. That's just wrong. I save money but I make sure I provide my family with all their needs and sometimes, their wants as well.

Managed to cut my food bill down $400 / mo

I am an athlete so food is essential to me... The previous $1000 was just too much.

But for sure I am liking the extra cash in my pocket. Time to re-invest!

    Thank you costco!
