The Silent Treatment. . .

The many years in this body have revealed a tried and true principle that Always delivers: Without fail.

There is the ego. Then, there is everything else that is or isn’t. When the ego encounters a problem, a question, a situation, a dilemma; it generally digs in and works to attain the answer it requires. And, when it fails to receive the correct answer amidst its search it reacts first in frustration trying to force the answer. Then desperation and a sense of failure set in.

This kind of blockage, defeat is not unusual for the human condition. It is a sort of built in default position we too often find ourselves in. The answer to this quandary is too simple, and often too trying for the participant to deal with. But, . . .give it a try.

The answer is “give it the silent treatment”. In other words when the confusion arises, when the problem doubles in size and looms ever more menacingly, when the answer refuses to reveal itself: “Go Silent”. “Drop It”. “Let Go Of It”. . . . if you have it in you.

I have found if you do this and are patient enough to flow (resistance-lessly) with the outcomes that ensue while you work to maximize your effort in honestly resolving the issue as the next step reveals itself, . . .You Will Get Relief, . . .You Will Get A Satisfactory Answer. At least to the next step in the process: and some times the issues require a “process” which will play itself out over time. But ultimately the outcomes pursued this way were Always Positive. They always have been for me. Honestly!

Best to everyone.

the reason why this works is because it is not the egos job to come up with answers .

if you live your life trying to impress people be important and acceptable to others ..your ego takes on a job of projecting to the outside world an image that will do that .

now the sad part about living ones life worrying what others think about you .. is generally 90 percent of their thoughts are trying to figure out what you are thinking of them.

if your ego is trained to do that then it can only give answers that relate to puting out an image that cares what others will think .

now if your dealing with something that relates to what you think of yourself..you really need to push the ego aside until you have retrained it to put what you think of you over what others think of you .

when you get to the point of not careing about what others think and you get the confidence to project as much of who you are too the world . the ego then takes on a role over time of screening out people who really have no importance to you .

This is excellent stuff. It is best to be zen like when you want to solve problems.

The ego tends to get us into trouble, by rationalising (or making excuses), not facing facts etc, because it is designed to protect our feelings of self-worth.

I trade the markets, and this is one area you have to learn to deal with your ego, or lose money. I don't think there is any other field where you can truely learn about yourself than trading, AND face up to truths. This is because there is a price to pay, and can be measured in monetary terms.
You soon learn to be humble.

In other areas we can kid ourselves, or rationalise to make us feel better, and therefore not really learn about our true nature.

I've found (in trading and in life), the greatest success comes when you can be 'egoless' and be more humble.

Good advice. Not always easy, though helpful for sure.

I find when I take a break and go away for awhile, when I come back to something (or even before because the brain is always active) I find all sorts of new connections.
