    I have a similar problem - first 7 days, I'll exercise maniacally - then for the next 5... I don't

Then I learned to pace everything...

If you are able to pace the way you work - spread it out over a longer period you may see the quality of your work increase and you'll be happier within yourself.

    It's all about the plan.

work steadily instead of too much and you'll achieve a lot more. Work too hard and you can burn out easily.

Write out the tasks that you need to do prior to each day so that you know what needs to be done. When you write down your tasks, you will feel guilty if you don't get them done. At least that is what works for me.

I find that if I don't know exactly why I do something, I will tend to loose interest.

      So here's my suggestion:

Write down why you do what you do. Really get that imprinted in your mind.

If that is all you think about the whole time you will definitely NOT loose interest

If you don't know why you do something, you might be doing the wrong thing

Just remember ... will power will only take you so far. Without a why in your life / why in your project / why in your business, you will probably struggle to stay motivated.

You seem to be struggling with consistency. Along with commitment and focus, consistency is one of the golden rules. Add it to your list and train yourself. Consciously force yourself to be consistent until it becomes a habit.

That's really weird. You mean for 5 days you do nothing but sit on your butt? Why not use it to plan for your next project?

    • It really doesn't matter that you work hard for a number of days then do nothing (towards your IM work) for a similar number of days. So what? There is nothing chiseled in stone that says you have to work in any particular way as long as you work.

If, after your do nothing period, you righteously pile your self back into your IM work where you left off, you have a winning strategy. The use of your natural work cycle will take you all the way to a successfully completed money making (or not) event which may keep on giving depending on how you structure it.

This just may be the way you are suppose to "make it" to a successful outcome. Who knows how you are suppose to work this business but you. You make the rules and if you don't like what you are seeing, change things around the way you want them to reflect your reality.

PS Remember, it's not your work day continuity that's stopping you, it's your lack of follow through to connect last work session's effort to your new round of work. It's like you are writing a short story and every work session you are simply adding more story to your open Word Doc. which represents your campaign. And we Always Save our latest work before we leave the program so we won't loose it and we can continue to add to it at will.

This may help you because it helps me... I have been through the exact same issues. I put it down to the diet I was eating and amount of exercise I was getting. If I wake up and go for a run I'm much more focused. Same with if I'm eating good healthy food. I realized the times I didn't feel like doing much work are the times I got lazy with exercise and started eating junk. That's maybe something you want to think about.
