What was your greatest failure? And, what did you learn from it?

We all celebrate successes. Why not celebrate the failures? After all, adversity molds character and creates champions. What would you consider your greatest failure? And, what did you learn from it?

I failed to make money online for 6 years.... From there my biggest failure was I actually quit up until recently...
Atleast I finally figured out how.... 6 years later.... but now I look back and what I learnt was priceless!
So for those who are thinking of giving up.... don't! Keep going and you will succeed!

Maybe not a "failure" however definitely an adversity would be dealing with social anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia.

I'm actually working on a post titled "Success And Suffering" that people may find helpful.

Here are a couple of things I've learned:

    1. Being more appreciative and grateful.
    2. Rejuvenating my relationship with God.
    3. Becoming more loving and compassionate.
    4. Realizing how much I love my Family.
    5. Becoming a "born again" Christian.

My greatest failure was not leaving the church sooner. Luckily, I jumped ship before reaching age 20.

By not going to church anymore, I feel that my academics and skills have improved because I don't have fallacies shoved down my throat anymore; there is less illogical influence in my life now, allowing my natural and rational thinking to roam free which is essential to what I do.

More important than anything else, I now have Sundays off, allowing me time to focus on internet marketing.

Failure was when I gave up on Youtube thinking it wasn't working as touted. So I gave up for 3 weeks thinking nathin....

Came and studied my Peerfly and researched where the point of entry for a conversion came in from and discovered that it WAS Youtube that it came from.

To me, failure was quitting for some time.

Overcoming failure was to recheck my Peerfly 3 weeks later and to discover point of entry to a conversion. Finding that Youtube actually does work. It is slower, but it does work in time. Tincture of time is what it takes.

Actually after checking the Peerfly conversion and learning where it came from was what helped. I got right back up on the horse and have been working since.

Failure to respect other people. To me, this means seeing and appreciating them as they are and not trying to change or sculpt our interaction in any way.

It's a lifelong work in progress.

I think that it's less celebrating failure, and more celebrating what you've learned from failure!

I think that one of my largest most recent failures was that, when I first started getting into IM, I launched a few pre-deals to try and generate extra income to build my company (The Agile Artist), but even though I had a large group to market to, I’ve been really surprised to find that the group seems to only take advantage of opportunities where they can feel like they are giving something for free, and NOT getting anything else in return.

For example, they’ll take job opportunities which pay them nothing, but won’t takes ones which pay. They’ll donate money to charities, but not so much Kickstarters… unless the Kickstarter looks like it’s going to fail, that sort of thing.

I tried to give them a lot before I realized this (learning, job opportunities, etc.), so even with a large group to market to, I wasn’t able to gather any funding. It was really bizarre to me, but it reminded me of something very valuable, never assume. Just because you have a large group to market to, that doesn’t mean that you’ll get any conversions.

I didn't understand my audience, and the fact that I had no money coming in from them was proof of that. But, I learned from it, and that knowledge will serve me much better than the funds ever would have (or so I like to tell myself XD)! ^_^

  • My greatest failure happens when I forget to learn from my mistakes... It's never one specific time or situation that I can think of-- mostly because I don't dwell on failures, instead I focus on my successes-- but any time I make the same mistake twice, that is when I've enacted my greatest failure.

      Oooohhhhh... such a good answer!

Unfortunately, sometimes when the repercussions are minimal, it takes me 5-6 times to finally learn. XD I can't tell you how many times I had to rerecord that one episode... >_< hehehe
