How to develop Patience...

Developing Patience is just one of many disciplines learn. Some people are lucky
to have it.
Patience is the ability to hang on when everyone else has given up.

Patience is the ability to release your need for immediate gratification and wait for the things to come
in their own time frame.

Set your mind on what you want Focus on it

Take action but most of all develop Patience.

As the saying goes

"Rome wasn't built in a day"
#develop #patience

    Agreed having patience is important.

I think many people fail online as they don't get instant results and make big bucks straight away.

I think you can help yourself be more patient with how you approach a task. If you consider what you need to achieve plus what is the best outcome for any particular task you are looking to tackle; you may come to the conclusion that the best solution may take more time than several other options that maybe quicker.

We live in world of instant gratification and we can share whatever pops into our heads with the world in seconds sometimes without really thinking about what we are doing.

Taking the time to think about what you are doing, making your actions count and be of value; I think will lead more to a happier person than telling the world "you just finished the cleaning the dishes".

Yes, I agree. Patience plays a major role in the success principles and it must be mastered.

Good way to train your patience:

Go out with your girlfriend on shopping tour on weekends. For best results, she must has desperate need of new shoes.

  • I agree that Patience is important. It's the universe's way of giving you what you want when you need it and when you're ready for it.

My point of view on patience is the following:

By the way, before I say anything else... The Truth sets you free - the rest are point of views

Patience can be trained like a muscle. how do you train your biceps? you lift weight then you rest! same with patience. Add yourself to environments where "patience is a virtue" (irritable small children are great for this!) and test your patience muscles...

Hmm, also if you're here, train your Volition (Will-Power) muscles! Or like Brian Tracy would say "set a goal, make a plan and go about achieving it"!

When X plants a plant in the ground... Will X go after 3 hours, remove the seed from the ground and ask it "hey, why aren't you a tree yet?" ... X has patience and TRUSTS that the seed will transform into a tree (thanks to the UNIVERSAL LAW!)... we do like 5% and the "Universe" does 95% .... isn't that great?

Anyway, back to patience... patience must be cultivated every single day until it becomes habitual (and then the subconscious takes care of it)...

How to train the Patience? Well, you know by now!

No, they are not great for this. Not for me. They make me more impatient and irritated. If I can spend enough time alone, that makes me more patient.

It is not easy to develop patience you must convince yourself to act on it consistently. It is a matter of character and personal development.

Yes I would say patience is very important. So many of us want to have it now. We don't want to wait for the process to take place and if it does not happen when we want it then its not for us or it does not work.
I have to remind myself every day that its a process and to be patient. Like you said Rome was not built in a day. You can expect to become an expert in a day, you can expect to drop 40 pounds in a week. It just does not happen that way. Practice patience always.

The idea of having to have patience in itself means that we still want everything to happen right now.

Things take time to cultivate. There are reasons why things take as long as they do (lucky for us) because our conscious minds (physical) are not equipped with enough knowledge to actually determine all outcomes and what is best for us at any given moment of time.

That is our 'collective higher mind's' job. Because it has access to all knowledge.

Recognize that patience is a skill, and like any other skill it takes practice.

Train yourself with missions: ie, for the next 10 days, I'm going to let other people talk for 2 full minutes before "speaking my piece".

Thanks for the thread but your suggestions are like pea shooters to hard-core impatient people like me. It would even cause me to flinch.

Definitely agree. Being able to control your state of mind at all times def helps as well.

    How do you do that?

By changing the questions that you are constantly asking yourself inside of your own mind.

I Believe that the most important skill for succeeding at anything in life is mastering the ability to communicate with one's self

There is 1 thing we all forget and that thing is enough to develop patience.

It is a simple rule no one will follow because it's hard.

But it's always hard to make the difference, that's why it's WORTH IT.

    You want patience?

    Try to slow down.
Slow down how you eat, how you f*ck, how you walk.

Slow down until it sounds unreasonable.
    Take time, do it slower.

This thing alone is one of the best gym for willpower and patience.

    Be awesome.

Patience is a huge problem for me. I work on being patient daily.
There are two things that I have found work well:

      1) Simply saying SLOW in my mind. Reminding myself that life is not a race helps me tremendously.
2)Meditation. I feel much more relaxed if I can get in two 10 minute sessions in daily......

  • It is great to have goals but you also need the reputation and trust to meet those goals. Reputation / trust don't come easy or quickly.

Growing up in church there was always a joke that patience was the one virtue you didn't want to pray to God to receive, because he would answer it by giving you things over and over again to increase your patience.

    It is tough.

I think it can be improved, but I also believe that some people are just more naturally more patient than others no matter what.

However, a lack of patience is not always a bad thing if you can use it to your advantage.

My wife really struggles with patience, but she responds to her need for instant gratification by working her butt off to achieve whatever it is she is seeking.

So if you can channel your lack of patience into an incredible work ethic, it can have a very positive affect on your business.

Elviira, I agree that it's difficult to have patience in such environments, but let me share with you one thing that's important for me.

If I want to improve an aspect of my life I must face it, because that's where the learning is hidden.

You are searching for patience, that is awesome. But consider this: if you protect yourself from anything that will remove patience, you will just have created an environment that put you at ease.

This is great, but have you worked on yourself? No, you've just removed the outside problems (which is, btw, not bad )
Problem is: if something you don't like will come along your way again, you will still be at phase 1.

So, my advice is similar to LinkContractor.
You shouldn't be totally at ease with this profound search and will to change yourself.

It won't be easy, but it will worth it

You can find a link in my signature to have a phisical way to help you with patience (it works with angriness, fear, too)

    Be well

You can increase your patience by practising going within yourself to find your true inner power.

Cast your burdens within and you will get more patience.

Check out H. Emilie Cady's chapter called Trusting and Resting in her book, How I Use Truth. You can download this book for free on several sites.

    Best regards,

However, some people mistake patience with procrastination. You have to put in the work first THEN wait. You cant just simply wait for it to come.
