I have a kidney stone..

This morning I was rushed to the emergency room because I was in extreme pain.. in fact.. I haven't been to the hospital in about 6 years, so this was a life changing event. They found after 2 hours of being there that I had a kidney stone that was close to turning into an infection.

I was given morphine and 3 different pain meds into my system.

I've been sick on and off for the past few weeks and they say that this is likely the cause. Now I'm finding it very hard to focus with all of the off and on pain. I know I shouldn't be working but I REALLY love what I do.

Has anyone here ever experienced a kidney stone or infection? And if so, how long did it take you to get back into the game?

Justin Lewis

P.S. I haven't passed the stone yet and they say it's likely I'll get another one soon.

Had two about 8 years ago, they were small about 1.5mm but the pain was incredible, secret is to drink lots of water, also be careful with the pain killers as they make you constipated after a while. You will get better just do what the doctor tells you.

Cranberry juice it's worked wonders with mine!

Had a couple of real big ones (approx. 10mm diameter - a bit under 1/2 inch) that they were going to 'zap' into little pieces so I could pass them but they never needed to do it thanks to the cranberry juice (which helped dissolve them) - a couple of glasses of cranberry juice each day & lots of water.

Hope you feel better soon...as soon as they're out you should feel pretty good within a day or 2.

      Cheers

I had thee most INSANE pain a couple weeks ago due to a kidney stone.

I feel for ya bud, I don't know whats worse, the pain of having a kidney stone or the wait to pass that bad boy!

Honestly, the thought of passing a STONE through such a tiny opening scared the sh*t out of me!

Then I remembered that a silk worm enzyme called serrapaptase breaks down all non living tissue. I pounded 300,000 i.u's a day for 4 days ( split into 2 doses ) and my pain was gone by day 5.... Thank goodness.

    Pain has been gone since.

If you can, grab some serrapaptase and drink it with the cranberry juice like Rach says.

Best of luck buddy, let us know how you get on!

I remember that pain - sheer agony!

I had a cluster of them in the kidney and one lodged lower down in my system. They broke them up with sound waves and I eventually passed them.

There are various treatments; personally I thought the ultra sound was excellent in that is was completely non-invasive.

    Good luck.

I knew a man who had them, construction worker etc. brought him down to nothing. He would lay on the floor changing positions all day long. The pain meds (I think they were oxy?) did next to nothing. Passing them is no walk in the park either, imagine a spiked ball (mace) come out.

Oh man, that is incredible. I had some after I was taking the Centrum "Vitamins" with "Extra" Calcium. I will NEVER take them again in my life. That's for sure. Crap $hit! Anyway the pain was insane and after 2 operations and many Morphine I was walking again. It's something I am terrified to face again

It depends how big are yours and where they are exactly - that will decide on the procedure. Anyway good luck and get well.....

      Cheers

When I had kidney stones multiple times my physician advised me to stay away from dairy products and drink a lot of cranberry juice. My stones were made of calcium. I would say to drink plenty of liquids if you have them so they can pass on their own. Otherwise I do not know of any other way besides what my physician told me.

I've been hit with kidney stones 3 times. I cut out spinach & peanuts from my diet and I haven't had a problem with this in several years.
