Anxiety is not a disease. It is a product of your thoughts. Change your thoughts.

Yes. Your thoughts are your worst enemies.
If you want to read something I can suggest you:

    - The magic of thinking big
    - Think and grow rich
    - The power of now

They all deal with the fears.

The first one was the famous "How to Make Friends and Influence People" and I think the 2nd was something like "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living".

If you can't find them in ebook, you can surely find them for 99 cents at any used book store -- a much better way to read a book anyway IMHO.

Do you want to find a book about overcoming anxiety? I suggest that you go to Amazon and search for books related to overcoming anxiety, and then look at reviews. On some free Kindle book sites, I have seen some that have been discounted to free, even. Alternatively, you can potentially seek out a professional counselor or psychologist to talk with.

I have battled anxiety for most of my life. I have also read many books on the topic. Luckily, I feel better now than I ever have. The books are nice to give perspective, but do little as far as action. Just like any change, action is the path.
Here is what worked for me:

-Mental shift: I decided to intentionally focus on slowing down. I made this the focus of my day. Any time that I felt anxiety, or even a lull in time, I would remind myself that life is short and this is the only now that I have.
-I read websites/blogs that supported my thinking. Basically I was reconditioning my brain to realize that anxiety was not needed. In order to do this I needed to focus on this. Passive anxiety control has one name: drugs. Active anxiety control is just that: active.

Make anxiety relief your focal point and you will see changes. Learn to breathe, slow down, and appreciate that life is awesome but short. Your JOB is to enjoy it.

  • Look directly at your anxiety for a second

    don't htink about it...just look

    just become aware of it.

you'll probably notice it as a sensation in the body.

and a bunch of thoughts commentting on this sensation.

notice how the thoughts you are having dont like it.

Are afraid of it. reject it.

yet all it is is a sensation and a bunch of thoughts.

    keep watching like this.

you are now seeing "anxiety" for what it is.

just a sensation and a bunch of thoughts about that feeling.

become as aware as you can of the feeling.

notice that is not that different from other sensations in the body.

could u hapily live with this sensation?

Let the thoghts run as they will. let the sensation be there.

you will find that anxiety is no big deal.

    this is my book

He might have more than just anxiety, it seems like he might have to be put on medication for something else maybe like a personality disorder.

The book that member AngelRayne mentioned before: "Feeling good: The New Mood Therapy" is excellent, and I also recommend. There is another book that I read many years ago called "Your Emotional Problems" by Peter Fletcher that really helped me at that time. I hope this helps!

Instead of judging or guessing, just offer help. As I said, I have some great books. I have it myself, among other ailments and I do understand the problem.
The worst things people can say are "it's all in the mind" or "get over it."

Anxiety can be caused by different things. Usually you are just overwhelmed - trying to do too much and not taking care of yourself. Anxiety and depression go hand in hand - in my experience getting there takes time and getting free from it takes time also.

I have a free eBook on "Planning for Success" that can help you create a system and help with that feeling of being overwhelmed.

A you have to do is subscribe to my Blog. I post there once a week on personal development and self improvement. If you find its not for you you can opt out any time with a simple click of the mouse.
