Nice. I would say it's a thought about how valuable time is for you not to waste it.

isn't spending money getting time exactly what you do when you pay some to do work for you ..to free up time ..

I think the quote was equating time with life; you can't spend money to get more life (unless you have an illness or disease or cancer that has extremely high costs for medical treatment).

But I don't think any of that matters; if I can spend some money to get more time with my family, I'll do it!

It is interesting on how many view points there can be on different subjects. Time is the one thing that is difficult to control and change. we can't really go back in time but hopefully by looking back in our lives we can see our progress and growth as we age. I try very hard to not "waste" the precious time I have been given. That would be my council to all of us as well. Have a great day.

Yet in many respects many of us swap our time for money. If one is employed one is swapping their time and expertise to gain money.
If one owns a business one is either outsourcing or employing people to gain more time.
Yes, time moves on and we cannot take back time, we can only move with time in the now.
Reflecting back we can see what we've done well and also areas for improvement in order to live in the now of time in the hope that we will achieve more at a future time.
Ever heard the saying - people are stuck in time or wanting to wind back the clock? Maybe because they feel better if time stood still - they may have had more security back then; or maybe they find it a challenge to positively process the negative experiences they had back then.
Also the saying: Time waits for no man. In other words time is always moving and is never static and if we do not harness living in the now, time can and potentially will slip us by
