Personal Development Books...your favourite?

Hey there WF!
I had the pleasure of attending an all-day seminar at a hotel near, Heathrow, London UK last Saturday with around 200 entrepreneurs and online marketers. We had a discussion as to the 10 most important books to read for Personal Development.
After some heated discussion and plenty of adding and subtracting, we came up with the 10 books shown below. What I would really love to know is:
  • a) Which of these has had the most influence on your own Personal life?
  • b) What would you add to the list?
  • c) Which of these, or of those you have read yourself, would you consider vastly over-rated?
Here's the list:
The New Psycho Cybernetics By Maxwell Maltz
The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg
Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Start With Why by Simon Sinek
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker
The Mindset Shift by Amanda Ollier, Susan Beesley, Chris Beesley
The 50th Law by 50 Cent, Robert Greene
Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason
The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson
The 80/20 Principle by Richard Koch

...any more titles in the personal development books category would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks for your input!

The Key is a must read for everyone in this industry. Most people don't realize how many subconscious blocks (negative mental programs) they have working against them. These are 'limiting' beliefs.

The good news is there are ways to 'clean' them, here, Let the author (Joe Vitale) explain this process:

I have read Think and Grow Rich.

I really enjoyed The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and also read The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles.

What I love about many of these books is how darn old they are and still as relevant today as they were back then.

Thanks for the list though, I have been looking for a holiday book to read :-)

  • One of my favorites is Tony Robbins' "Re-Awaken The Giant Within". 100 page e-book condensed by Tony for the format I believe.

I'm also a T Harv Eker fan. If there is a MMI seminar in your area (they're free) it is three days well spent.

Think and Grow Rich is a classic!

The book that changed my life personally was, "The definitive book of body language" by allan pease.

This book was about body language and was a game changer. Helped me learn how to read between the lines and see what people were really thinking. Gives you examples and shows you how to apply it in different settings. My dating life took off because of it too mind you.

    Other books I'd suggest include:
    • Four hour work week-tim ferris
    • The art of seduction robert greene
    • Rich dad poor dad by ?

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey started my self improvement journey. The 8th Habit shows you how to find your voice in life. The 4 quadrants of time is a great time management strategy to follow.

Getting Things Done by David Allen is where I learned a time management strategy that works for me.

Brian Tracy's works are also excellent. Love the voice on his audio files.

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki opened my eyes to how rich people think. Also check out his other works. If you need a financial coach, this is the man for the job.

I continuously read more of these kinds of books/learning materials as I realize that the more I apply the concepts/ideas in these books, the better both my financial and personal life becomes.

All Books mentioned are great, however, one must apply the principles to get results.

My personal favorites are Emmet Fox, The Power of Constructive Thinking, and Charles F Haanel, The Master Key System, is my favourite of all the Golden Oldies, in fact to me Charles Haanel's Master Key is a work of genius and a much easier read and easier to apply the principles than Think and Grow Rich. Just my opinion.

I also like Dr Robert Anthony's stuff and promote him on my personal website. I have owned a copy of his total self confidence for years.

The Art of Power: Thich Nhat Hanh

No book I've ever read has even come close to power of the words within this one. And I've read such books as "Think and Grow Rich", "Awaken The Giant Within", "The Millionaire Fastlane", and countless other popular ones.

I personally prefer Science of Getting Rich over Think and Grow Rich.

I can't seem to fully grasp the content in Think and Grow Rich but everyone seems to rave about the book... I probably need 10-20 more reads
