OK. This is that time of the year. And time for my annual ritual to offer something to the warrior members every year.

If you were able to keep your new year resolution for 2013, congratulations. Keep up the good work. Maybe you can share your success stories and inspire the fellow forum members.

If not, let us stick together and make it stick for 2014. Share your new year resolutions for 2014 here and tell us how you are going make it stick - your plans and strategies so others can benefit from them too.

If you have difficulty making your new year resolution stick and believe that you can use some help, I will offer free one on one IST sessions for anyone interested. Especially, if you want to do it without any struggle and use of will power - just cold turkey. Just PM me or post your interest if you don't have enough post to PM.

I don't really use willpower, I just change my mind to achieve the target.I got some willpower but I won't overdo it to the extend breaking my own beliefs.

I've actually written a few blog posts on New Year's Resolutions (and a better way of setting them) on my blog if anyone is interested:

I think that building habits is the most important part of keeping a resolution, if you can implement your resolution in your life in such a way that it becomes a habit, your resolution will be just as hard to break as any other habit (good or bad) that you may have.

My new year's resolution last year was to take more chances, which I did. I invested heavily and took some risks in my personal life that I wouldn't have done before.

This year I have decided to cut back on the amount of meat I eat by about 50%. This should benefit me by improving my health. Pretty easy to track too since I do all the food shopping.

The only way to stick with any resolution is to want it so bad that nothing will stand in your way of getting it and it practically consumes your thoughts. Problem is most new years resolutions are not a big enough deal to us to stick with it. As adults, we have thoughts and ideas embedded in our minds from years of experiences. The only way to change that is with a ton of effort.

Yes, you are right about that our years of experiences and interactions with people and events that is responsible for our current belief system, reality and state of life.

But we are the one who created the belief system. People are unique and the way they interact with people and events are unique and the resulting belief system will be unique for each and every individual. Since we created our belief system in the first place, we have the power to change it any way we wanted it and come to terms with it.

In most cases you don't need a lot of effort or time to change our belief system we created. It can even be instantaneous. All we have to do is take a look at the belief system that is responsible for the current situation in a different way than we have been doing so far and come to terms with it.

This is why the conventional, traditional self improvement system work for some and do not work for others. Self improvement is an area where one answer fits all approach does not work well.

When conventional, traditional system are not effective, it might be a good idea to try something unconventional. In the case of new year resolution one unconventional way of looking at it is rather than focusing on, say, quit smoking or losing weight, with IST session we look at the root cause of that habit and deal with it. Or with people who have formed a habit of making new year resolution and giving it up easily we take a look at it and take care of it first before taking a fresh look at the new year resolution.

In any case with IST it is the student, not the teacher, who sets the agenda what to do and how to do based on the assumption that the student has all the answers all along which is a big difference between conventional, traditional systems and IST. Teacher is just there to help the student rediscover the answers. The results are, in most cases, instantaneous, natural and effortless.

Maybe just stick to 1 - 2 simple resolutions (that are “do-able” ) and build your confidence and success from there.

Even if you haven't kept your New Years Resolution, you still have another 11 months to go.

It's great if you have enough will-power to accomplish something significant however (in my experience at least) it doesn't always work like that.

I don't as a rule make any new year resolutions, I just make plans for what I want to achieve for the year ahead. In 2013 I planned to write to books and publish them, which I did. In 2014 I plan to write 3 books and publish them, and concentrate on my website and building my list.
