When you make a wrong decision....Think again!

Here is another short story of learning from your mistakes:
Two years ago I bought a large enclosed trailer out of impulse.
Things didn't work out for the trailer so I tried to sell it. No one would buy it.
So after several months it occurred to me that UHaul doesn't rent out trailers this large (7 x 20) so I decided to rent it out.
I mounted a nice vinyl sign that says For Rent along with my cell number.
Also I listed in the local newspapers
Now two years later I average $300-$500 per month just renting it out.
I never meet my customers they pickup and drop off and mail me a check...
Last fall I bought another trailer about same size because I had to turn down so many requests. This year it has been very very busy with all the foreclosures going on.

So remember whatever disadvantage you are facing now. Stop and Think. There may be another opportunity just around the corner.

My $0.20

    Hey Runfast...

Again this story is quite interesting, although not too much motivating. But gives the lesson that the opportunities are spread all around us and now it's time for us to seize the moment. Most of the time the wrong decisions comes out to be right one. Needs extra vision to reach the conclusion.

I once wrote this in one of my project Some Kind Of Powerful....

"Like the reality in this world we live in, everything is somehow linked and connected to every experience you had and you are going to have. I think somehow you knew this already, that there are things that we need time for the truth to reveal their real intention and value to us. Just like how our past experiences and circumstances had somehow lead you to here and now"

This is some great quote! I also think whatever happening to us seems to be related somehow. You only need to find the link between all these circumstances.

As one says "failures are the stepping stones to success", it doesn't matter that you had taken a wrong decision ... its that how much you learn from it to make your coming job a success! The wrong decision you take makes you more experienced in that particular area as you tend to make alternative decisions and a lot of mind work involved.

      Great story.

I disagree about calling it a 'wrong' decision, since you chose a newer, 'right' decision to correct it.

      That's intelligence at work. Nice.

Software that turned out to be a waste of money.
Niches I jumped into without researching.
People with whom I partnered that weren't trustworthy.

All turned out to be incredible investments in discovering what doesn't work and why.

Had I not learned & benefitted from the initial choices? They would have been complete losses.

My experience; i was selling a site that i made out of a hobby, never promoted it nor monetized it thoroughly, just used adsense that had only reached a 8 month earnings of $15. I thought it was just a waste of time creating the site

I was frustrated about this and decide to sell it for just about $20. Only one have bid on it $10 less it's value. I decided not to sell.

Turns out, it had a Pr3 on the was-then Google page rank update. I earned $200 from it Not much, but way much better than $10

  • Loved this story. Quick thinking helped you see the opportunity in your situation. Good for you! Just a little clarification for me now.

Is this a trailer that you rent out so people can haul/move stuff, like what UHaul does? And you rent it out per weekend for rates similar to UHaul? If that's correct, what if you made a bonus booklet out of your experience to suggest it as a money-making idea for someone? With so many people needing money, it could be a real blessing to someone in a really bad fix.

Could be a great PLR business idea PDF booklet. Just thinking out of the box to further suggest more prosperity to you.

Yes this trailer is to rent so you can hau/move stuff. It is just like UHaul setup the difference is a lot bigger trailer that is cheaper then theirs.

I use one flat rate of $35 per day. It doesn't matter how far is goes or howm\ many mile they put on. It's $35 PER DAY

I never thought about using it as a bonus booklet. Would you be interested in JV the project? If so PM me.
