Get rid of a "get money for nothing" mentality

Hey there,

Long time reader on this forum, decided to start contributing back a little.
My name's Hannes and I've got about 7 years experience working in the marketing field. I started out working for medium to large agencies in Europe even before I got into college, right after high-school.

Since then, have met and worked with some very successful people, including the creators of Red Bull Energy Drink, a well known European multimillionaire Insurance magnate and underground marketers such as Matt Gallant. In my young but successful career I have worked for several hundred business and private clients, it really kicked off when i began to freelance.

If I have learnt one thing during all of this time it is:
HAVE AN ACTION ORIENTED MINDSET

There is literally nothing more important than action and a focus on your goal.
If you have that one quality, you are going to go further than 99% of the rest.

So cancel your get money for nothing / get rich quick schemes. It's possible to get rich quick, but it's all relative. Hard work, discipline and focus are the true keys to success.

If you have a spare 10 minutes you can listen to more of what I have to say here:

If you have any questions contact me as I'm not pretending to be a know it all but happy to answer what I can help with!

Kick Ass and take names ...remember: ACTION!
#achieve your dreams #focus your mind #get money for nothing #mentality #mindset for success #money affirmations #rid #think & grow rich

      Hi Joe,

      haha.
I was actually into woo woo myself for a long time. Lost weeks if not months of valuable time because of it. I only woke up from it when I was hired by one of Europe's most successful insurance salesmen.

The most successful people all say that the right mindset is very important, but action is probably even more important because it connects your mindset with reality. And the more action you take the more you will be connected with reality due to all the feedback you get.

Who else thinks that work is a lot of fun once you get into it? For me its almost like a flow that I do not wanna stop...it's what Tim Ferris calls "Eustress" (positive stress)

The sad thing is that most people want to be successful and see others have success but when it comes to taking action and doing what ever it takes to succeed, they back down.

"What, it takes work and dedication to succeed? I want easy money"

That is what most people think. That is why 70% of online marketers FAIL.

Totally agree. And it's not just online marketing, its everything....love, relationships, jobs, sport, fitness...happiness....you gotta be active then things will come to you automatically. This whole passive mindset stems from the idea that you deserve something for nothing......well...you got a body for nothing, you got a life for nothing, you got a family for nothing, but you have to work for the quality of all of these

hag66, I really like this last post of yours - helps put things in perspective. Action is everything. Positive thoughts DO create reality, in that they create the confidence in taking the action.

          Sorry to digress, but... focused and consistent action is the key;
action for the sake of it will only deplete energy...
action as "latest shiny object grabbing syndrome" will deplete bank account as well

Nice video, your thoughts and research can only take you so far. At some point you have to put in the work. You never "make" money you must earn it from others with hard work.

When you are working with so called "successful" people and you watch what they do, it is very easy to completely misunderstand it.

When you think they are taking action, they maybe reacting. When you think they are focusing on the task, they maybe doing nothing.

In any case, when you look at the external cover and you think you can understand the internal forces behind it, you maybe on the wrong track.

It is always a good idea to reverse this mindset and start looking within your self. The secret is that what you're looking for is what you're looking with.

The answers are not out there.

Arnold Schwarzenegger said: "The most important rule for success is to work your butt off".

He is a prime example for that. I can guarantee you that if you are willing to work harder, and you actually set specific goals, you are going to achieve tremendous success compared to before you do that!

    Great post Hag!

    Great Points.

But it doesn't have to be hard does it? People in this industry really believe in working hard but I think that is just another form of 'conditioning' don't you?

I am not saying to do next to nothing and expect the world.

I am saying to work diligently and 'consistently' every day.

This is only hard if someone isn't aligned with their vision or they have to many 'negative' thoughts holding them back.

Work towards your goals everyday but do it with a 'relaxed confidence'.

100% agreed. The most productive and successful people do work hard when necessary but to them it's like peanuts because they love doing it.

Yea really nicely put, thanks !

Most people feel that you have to work hard to see results but you really have to work smart too.

You have to do the things that work and get you results.

When I look back over any successes that I've had, I clearly see that taking action was the key to that success. Persistence, dedication, and action are 3 keys to moving you forward.

Some years ago I read a post somewhere that had a great header, "Ready, Fire, Aim!"

Just as a lot of people have difficulty in actually doing anything, others are so keen to do something they don't think through the likely consequences first, or how their actions will help them progress towards having a profitable business.

We've all seen the many internet marketing related products being promoted that virtually promise riches for no work at all. Given the high-powered copy that promotes these offers, it's hardly surprising if many on this Forum and elsewhere really believe that you can actually make thousands without doing anything.

I think that what we can all be agreed on here is that we need to provide value in some form or other before we can be properly rewarded. You have to give in order to receive.

In what way can each of us give value? That's what you have to decide for yourself before you embark on an online business career.

Those who pick something that they love doing anyway are in the best position. They have the best chance of seeing their business through all the pitfalls and setbacks to ultimate success.

      A Great post hag66

I totally agree with all that you have said, being positive will get you on the right track. You have to make a decision to be successful and then do all you can to stand by that decision, which obviously takes action, without action nothing ever happens.

Some want to get as much as they can by doing as little as possible, whether it be in business, relationships or anything else. I also believe that giving as much as you can without expecting something in return is am important attribute to have in life.

"The video does not exist". However, I agree with what you just said. There can be quick money, but there's no easy money. And quick money doesn't happen from thin air, but it takes time... and a lot of effort. So be prepared by making sure that you're gonna love what you're doing, because you're gonna be travelling a long road before you succeed.
