If you had one wish what would it be?

Ever been asked that question? TO BE HAPPY! That's my answer and I believe it is the reality behind every answer. Unfortunately, I have as yet to meet a genie who might deliver on your request. That job is yours.
How? There is no universal road map.
Here's mine...and hopefully yours:
Slow down. That's right. Better yet...stop. Look around you. What do you see? Did you know there are over 7 billion people sharing this planet with you? We are not identical with perfectly fitting parts off a production line. We all look different, act differently, and perceive the world differently. Now, let's get happy.
1. Get organized. I'm not just talking about your desk top or personal records. You might start with your home and take on one room before starting on another, eventually, hitting them all. Your children, spouse, significant other may trash the room behind you but so what....by organizing something, anything, you will begin to see life in day-tight compartments. Problems aren't 'whole' but built of many parts. You can learn to deal with one part at a time and eventually deal with the' whole'.
2. Meditate. Make the time, pick a mantra, relax in your favorite chair or couch, try to clear your mind of all thoughts and repeat your mantra in silence. Twenty minutes, twice a day, is recommended, but don't start there. Ten minutes once a day is just fine. As with anything new, start slowly.
3. Exercise. Get on a routine. Walking is said to be the best 'all around' exercise. What you do and for how long is your decision. Just get started.
It's all about setting time aside just for you. Believe it or not the time is there and you will find it.

Think about that crowd in the stands cheering on their favorite pro football team. They all have worries, sadness, triumphs, failures, etc.. We feel we are each the center of the universe. However, it's highly doubtful that those tens of thousands of people in the stands think about or care about you at all. Is that sort of revelation depressing or liberating to you? Hopefully it is liberating and a lesson in not taking yourself too seriously. After all....how many people really care? Those that do are rare and should be held tightly.

Now follow steps one through three above and hold on, the trip will amaze you.

    If I had one wish?

That we could all realize the peace that's within us all.

Then it would be like heaven here on earth.

Or, maybe we would all just be in heaven 'collectively' as one.
