Great Habits to Instill

Today I want to do a run through of habits that I practice daily or weekly. I will then show you how I've been keeping track of this for the past six months.

Meditation - I do 20 minutes of meditation every day. Every night before bed I will lie and focus on my breath or inner body. Doing meditation has helped me become more aware of my thoughts and emotions. I have more control over my mental and emotional health. It has helped me to remain calm and steady. Things don't really get to me much.

Reading - I read 30 minutes every day. The types of books I read are usually stories of successful people, business books, or personal development. Reading has helped me gain knowledge and inspiration in areas I am pursuing. I also listen to audiobooks and podcasts while driving in the car. We spend a lot of time on the commute to work or school. Listening to audiobooks and podcasts helps me kill two birds with one stone. It is time I need to spend regardless.

Read Mission Statement, Values, & Goals - Every morning I will read through these. I spent the time and thought to create each one of these. My mission statement was created to clarify what my purpose is on the earth. My values were created to clarify what principles I will uphold and what things I prioritize in my life. My goals were created to give me a vision and direction of where I want to go. These goals are broken down into smaller goals which I am able to take immediate action from.

Fish Oil & Reishi Pills - Every morning I will take these with water. These are for health purposes and to enhance my mind to help me be more sharp.

Money Jar - Every day I will put at least some money into my money jar. I usually put one dollar, however sometimes it is more or less. I added this habit to help me start saving up money for the long term.

Journal - Every day I will write in my journal. I write about what I learn from books, observations about myself and other people, and positive things that happened in the day.

Socializing - I am usually out about five days a week. This is used to spend time and have fun with friends. This is also used to meet new people and go to different events going on.

Working Out & Running - I usually run once or twice a week and workout three or four times a week. This is to keep myself physically and mentally strong. This is also to keep myself fit and feeling good.

Improv Comedy - Once a week I will go to improv comedy. This is to help me become quicker on my feet. Improv also helps me become more present and really paying attention to the situation at hand.

Toastmasters - Once a week I will start going to Toastmasters. This is to help improve my public speaking and presentation skills.

Experience/Activity - Once a week I will go do something new with friends. This may be cliff diving, going to a yoga class, or anything else. The purpose is to do something new and different to experience more.

There you have it. These are my daily and weekly habits that I keep. This is how I track them over the long run:

    Wow, you are very organised. Everything you are doing is designed to enhance your life in one or another, a fabulous list of good positive habits, keep it up.

    I probably do 60% of what you have listed, including daily meditation which is excellent for mind and body. It is amazing how positive and relaxed you feel on a daily basis doing some or all of these things.
