The "30-Day Challenge" to Build your Business

Hey guys,

Just thought this would be good to share to you what we've been doing in our group.

We share what we are doing consistently for at least 30 minutes daily in 30 days to motivate ourselves that will also help build our business.

To introduce myself, I'm currently a full-time IT Business Analyst rendering 10-12hrs/day and I'm also doing full-time to my internet marketing business 7days/week.

You might think how I'm doing that working full time both as an employee and an entrepreneur.

Well, full-time doesn't just mean the hours you rendered to work but your full dedication to be productive in what you're doing.

Time management is the key.

Here's my daily routine:
15-30mins listening to my favorite motivational speakers or read books
15-30mins daily fitness routine
10-12hrs (M-F) - work with my Job (including lunch-dinner break)
6-7hrs (M-F) - work with my business (spend more time on weekends)
4-5hrs sleep (even when I'm sleeping I'm still dreaming of doing things for my business)

Don't ask me if I have social life...but I have social networking activities online.

How about you? What's your daily routine? Would love to hear.

I used to have tough routine before resigning from work and more tougher routine when I entered IM but now I take things easy. I work from 2-14 hours a day depending on work and my mood.

    Thanks for the share!

It's great that you can manage your time to work on your business AND have a job at the same time.

My business is my hobby, so I can't really tell how much time I'm "actually working". I'm having fun all day long :-)

      Hi gela:

Wow! That's a very impressive schedule ... and you work 10 - 12 hours a day...Whew! That's quite a lot. But as long as you feel passionate about your business, then that's all that really matters ...

It's awesome that you are managing to keep fitness and mental exercises into your day. It's important to maintain that balance ... so keep up the good work with that.

When I first started, I didn't have a lot of forethought into maintaining a daily schedule and now I wish that I had because initially I put my health on hold and didn't make time to eat right or go to the gym. This was about 15 years ago, so I have since incorporated that into my routine.

I just pretty much worked my day job ... and came home and worked until I could no longer keep my eyes open.

However, before I could even make money at my business, my boss at the time told me I had to choose between my business and my job and guess what I chose????

So, it was pretty much 100% focus on my business after that happened and it really was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.

      That said ...

These days my schedule is pretty much

      Wake up
      Meditate
Go for a walk or run
      Work for a few hours
      Lunch
      Go for a walk
      Work for a few hours
Hubby comes home from his job
      Meditate
      Read Personal Growth books
      Watch TV
      Hubby goes to bed
Read either business stuff or personal growth stuff until I can not hold my eyes open any longer

It's not like that every day ... and there are a few more break downs in the schedule, but that's pretty much it.

I wish you LOTS of success with your business.

      Keep up the great work!

tough schedule, you sleep less than average, but it's necessary for success to make some compromises, but also don't forget to take care of your health.

Wow hypwoman, thank you for sharing your story. Very inspirational. I loved how you spend time with your day, more freedom and living life as you want it. I wish you more success too!

Yes, moneymaker.. I do take care of my health. I always ensure eating healthy food and getting fit. Just that when you have a burning desire that you want to achieve something it keeps your mind and soul awake.

Thanks for the concern, appreciate it.

The latest thinking on sleep is that our brains perform "clean up" operations in our sleep. In effect, short term memories that aren't needed are cleared so our brain can reuse those neural pathways. It's believed the average person needs about 7 hours of sleep for proper brain maintenance.

If we don't get that, we can actually work longer and get less done because our brain isn't working as efficiently as it could. We also get confused more easily and it takes longer to sort out our confusion when we're continually sleep-deprived.

So, be careful about not getting enough sleep. Besides the health implications, it can act as a performance limitation where we can work harder and harder and actually get less done.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Thanks Dennis. I do take power nap 15-30mins when I feel like I can't focus anymore and that really help.

        Wake Up
        Go To Work (10 hours/day)
Read ebooks/articles during free time at work
        Go Home
Absorb knowledge/ Do IM related stuff
        Sleep 5 hours
        Repeat

It's pretty tough so far... I hope that in time, this will all pay off and I can stop working for good after 3 years.

I actually try to get about 10 hours of sleep most nights.

I find that I take a lot less time working and make much better decisions when I get a lot of sleep.

That said, I usually wake up and want to get straight to work. I try to make sure I meditate/do yoga, play music, eat well, etc. before I work. I work for 2-4 hours, then I take a long break until dinner time. After dinner, cleaning, getting ready for bed, I work for another couple of hours.

Then I meditate and do yoga again and I might read or write before going to sleep.

They say that if you find something that you truly love doing, you'll never work a day in your life! In may seem counterintuitive to some but I tend to focus on not working to build my business, but rather in building value for others. This gives me far more satisfaction I find. And the rewards that grow from this activity enhance my own life and work goals, leading to all-round improvement.
