Three Thoughts About Success And Failure
This one is easier said than done, however, if you practice it, I promise it will make you more successful. I know because I took responsibility for social anxiety, depression, and mental illness.
And, I have accomplished and learned a lot.
Most people, however, blame other people and events for the reason why they are not successful. For them, it's never their fault. They never take responsibility. Why? Maybe because it's easier. And, maybe because it takes a certain amount of courage, honestly, and humility to take responsibility for your life.
When you take 100% responsibility for everything that happens to you, you can take charge and create the future that you want. After all, you have created everything up until now. And you can un-create and re-create anything at will.
You will also have a wonderful feeling of empowerment knowing that you are in charge of what happens to you in life.
As Jim Rohn said: "You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind. But you can change yourself." And in changing yourself, you will be more successful.
Make decision today to take 100% responsibility for your life. This is what "winners", "leaders," and "Millionaires" do.
Affirmation:
"I take 100% responsibility for everything that happens to me. And, I'm free to create whatever I desire." |
The way most people think of "failure" is completely wrong. (Then again, most people aren't amazingly successful, right?)
They see it as something negative that should be avoided at all costs.
The truth is, though, that failure can be a great teacher along the journey of success. In fact, Thomas J. Watson (Founder IBM) said:
"Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It's quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You're thinking of failure as the enemy of success, but it isn't at all. You can be discouraged by failure, or you can learn from it. So go a head and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because, remember, that is where you will find success."
If I could share just one success secret with you, it would be the Napoleon Hill quotation in my signature. I have overcome some important challenges in my lifetime (including social anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia). Through all of these painful experiences I have learned a great many things.
I promise you that if you search for it, you will find an equivalent or greater benefit to absolutely anything that you are going through.
Including "failure."
Really, failure is just the opportunity to learn something that will help you accomplish your goal(s). As Thomas Edison said: "I haven't failed 10,000 times, I just found 10,000 ways not to invent a light bulb." And without him trying those 10,000 times, he wouldn't have found the "secret" to inventing the incandescent light.
Affirmation:
"I'm not afraid of failure, because I'm always learning. And, I realize that failure is just a learning experience that will make my dreams more a reality." |
This success insight came to me while reading Napoleon Hill's "Think And Grow Rich."
At first this may seem like "positive thinking" and "being determined" however it's something much more "powerful" than that. To put it simply, you can accomplish virtually anything that you desire. And all you have to do is ...
Choose to be successful, and keep taking action.
So what does that mean exactly?
First of all, success is a choice. It is something that you choose to accomplish because you know you can. You don't "try" to be successful. Or maybe accomplish your ambitions. You choose to. You literally know beyond a shadow-of-a-doubt that you can accomplish your goal(s) and you will do whatever it takes to make them a reality.
There are a lot of examples about this kind of mindset in "Think and Grow Rich."
For instance, do you remember Edwin C. Barnes? From the very beginning he chose to be successful. See, he turned up at Thomas Edison's laboratory saying he had come to go into
business with the great inventor.
As Edison recalled:
"He came before me looking like an ordinary tramp. But, there was something in the expression of his face that communicated that he was determined to get what he had come after." See, from the very beginning Edwin chose to be successful. There was no doubt in his mind that he would be successful in working for the great Edison. And so he amassed a great fortune.
This same "power" is available to you. And the only reason you can fail at being a successful Entrepreneur is if you stop taking action. That's it. That's the only reason. You can overcome absolutely everything and make your goals a reality. By choosing to.
Affirmation:
"I choose to be successful, and I know I can accomplish anything that I set my mind to." |
