Adopt a WINNING Mindset

You want to be a winner? Here's the key... You've got to THINK like a winner. Mindset is everything

How do you do this?

It's actually simple....

Make winning a habit.

An Every. Day. Occurrence.

Consciously strive towards winning EVERY situation. Make everything you do a win or lose situation, even the smallest of tasks. Start by making a list of everything you want to accomplish in a day. As you complete each task, rather than crossing it out or checking it off, put a big ole' "W" next to it. Obnoxiously large. Purposely leave it uncrossed out, that way you can see what the task was and know you beat it; know that you won. To some this will sound silly. But if you want to think like a winner, and ultimately BE a winner, you need to drill the mindset into your head every chance you get.
The first "W" will feel good. You'll feel compelled to win the second task, then the third, fourth, and so on. By the end of the day, when you look back at your list and see nothing but W's, you'll feel accomplished, content, and most of all.... victorious.

Make every task a personal mission. Don't even entertain thoughts of failure or losing.

Winners HATE losing. Losing means that you weren't good enough, or that someone else was better than you. Look at yourself in the mirror and deem this unacceptable.

Hold yourself to offensively high standards. Make others uncomfortable by your drive and determination. I promise that's okay. When you strive to bring yourself up, to better yourself in some way, most will resist and try to prevent you from doing so. Nobody wants to see you do better than them.

Ignore their negative influence, strive towards your goals.

Advance with merciless grit.

Move with unapologetic resolve.

Accomplish the goal, win. Fail to accomplish, lose.

Simple as that. As the wins pile up, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, the feeling of victory becomes addicting. And as far as I'm concerned, winning is the healthiest addiction.

Through relentless effort and conscious habit, you will transform yourself into the winner you were born with the potential to be.

"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once and a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit." - Vince Lombardi

I see what you're trying to say. I was once a champion of the same mindset. All I did was win, no matter the cost. At times the cost was too steep, for me and for others involved. I have to say that it wasn't worth it and that although it got me great personal and business results, it didn't really bring true satisfaction and happiness.

Viewing life as a win lose scenario more often than not leads to disappointment and frustration and anger, all the emotions you need to avoid to really win. Many people risk viewing themselves as failures simply because they fail. The truth is that just because you failed doesn't mean you are A failure. Big difference.

I now view a win as a big win and a failure as a small win. Either way I learn a lesson, which makes it a win for me.

Of course, this whole issue can effectively be avoided by focusing on yourself and not thinking of yourself as being in competition with others. Self-competition is the way to victory.

    Overcome yourself. Not others.

Some good points in your post. Certainly some fire in you. I think it's equally important to tame that fire and view things through a slightly more balanced lens than strictly win or lose.

      Good point there Dain.

Become a “Peaceful Warrior” as the most important battles we face are on the inside.

I'm going to give this a try. I usually cross things out on my checklist but I'm going to put a W next to it instead. I'm naturally a competitive person so this might give me an extra boost of motivation. Thanks for the tip.
